B's starting to show some signs of life. Good to see.

Re: The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

Is that using the same fuzzy math that claimed 12,112 were at that B's game?

There's a huge difference between paid attendance and actual attendance. If we're going by actual attendance....Detroit should be moved too then. Hell New Jersey's one of the top teams in the NHL and they're at 86% paid attendance.

Habs wearing another set of throwbacks (from 1909) against the Wings on HNIC tonight. However, the best touch is the gloves, which are designed to look like old work gloves, just like they wore in the old days.

I was just going to ask how many gimmicky throwback jerseys the Habs can wear in a season?

Kovalchuk just got himself:

2:00 instigating
2:00 instigating with a visor
5:00 fighting
10:00 misconduct

Price needs to get a better grip on his stick. :D

Unexpected PIM fantasy points from Kovy for his fantasy owners!

Well, instead of complaining about injuries or moronic management, I'll just say that I'm glad I'm not a Carolina, Islanders or Leafs fan :D

Re: The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

Wings are still worrying me a bit, but nice to get the shootout win.

Vesa Toskala actually won a game tonight, and Toronto didn't have to score a half-dozen goals for him to get the job done.

Okay, now I'm going to *****. Somehow, if a guy is carrying the puck to the net and plows over a goaltender, its not interference, but if he gets tripped and shoved into the goaltender, it is interference on him

Funny...the exact same thing happened in the Gopher game tonight. A UMD forward was knocked down by a Gopher player and ran into Kangas. On the way down, he hit the puck into the net with the butt end of his stick. Then they called it no goal.

Re: The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

I'm not sure I've ever seen an NHL player shy away from contact as often and as consistently as Patrick O'Sullivan did tonight.

Yeah, and I didn't care for the cheap knee-to-knee shot that Laracque put on Kronwall, either. That was flat-out dirty.

Agreed. Most Habs fans are hoping for a very lengthy suspension. He's garbage.

And who did he beat up? Matt Cooke. Ilya Kovalchuk is a national hero.

He needs to start gooning it up like the 2002-2003 Friars. Or hypnotize Luccic into fighting him so you can get REVENGE!!!!!!1!!!!111!!! (maybe he should hypnotize Luccic into staying healthy instead)

I'd be happy if they just flat out waived him. He's truly useless...an enforcer who does not enforce...to the tune of 1.5M/yr. I actually chuckled watching John Erskine get the best of him Friday night, and what he did last night has no place in hockey.
