Sounds like the old regime on this trade.

Not sure. I don't mind losing Weller, and no way to tell if Fallstrom would pan out anyway. Pretty much depends on if they can get a second round draft pick back at some point.

Re: The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

Is this the beginning of a bigger move for the Bruins?

Re: The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

Sounds like a "nothing" move to me to keep the fan base engaged. Given the cap I'm not sure how the Bruins could bring in an impact player to help put the puck in the net.

Not bad for a soft listless team.

Despite the objections from the group of morons at the sports bar I was at, totally clean hit... Fundamental hockey: Skate with your head UP

Yep. Great hit. And I don't even hate Toews anymore (since he left UND and all). ;)

Absolutely clean hit and Mitchell read the play the entire way. Of course the Blackhawks had to start sh-t after it. Whatever.

There's the rub. If I saw my teammate laid out, I'd probably start some *. Is it wrong? Sure, in hindsight. I don't blame 'em for it, as long as they don't go Brashear or Bertuzzi on the bit. But in the heat of the moment? Yeah, I understand it.

Dropping the gloves and starting a fight because your teammate was stupid and didn't keep his head up is bogus though. If you've got a problem with it, go hit that guy later on and cleanly. Think of it like a baseball game. You hit our guy, we'll hit yours... eventually.

Re: The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

Plus its stupid that the refs stopped play right away, preventing Vancouver from scoring.

To be fair, the cavalry already headed out after Mitchell but it certainly would've been an odd-man rush the other way with the Creepo Twins.

If they indeed see the play "develop" I am with you. If they didn't, then I stand by my statement. Do you know what I am saying? ;)
