Team USA--WJC

Re: Team USA--WJC

??? Which is it? One minute he's praised for always going all out, then he's trying too hard. Bottom line is, this team will go nowhere fast if that first line doesn't start producing.

I don't see those attributes as being mutually exclusive but if someone must be wrong, it is likely me. I did not see the whole game.

Yes. I think he took a dive, and then ended up hurting himself anyway.

He got him from behind and hit his forehead on the boards. He may have stayed down longer than needed but if you have ever been hit like that it hurts having your spine jarred by the impact.

Re: Team USA--WJC

Without being defeatist, please answer this question.

Today's loss to Russia:

a). Enhanced team USA's chances of winning a medal

b). Hurt the USA's chances of winning a medal

c). Will have absolutely no affect on the USA's medal chances

Much will depend on the outcome of Canada/USA and Russia/Canada.....the U.S will obviously have to beat Slovakia but a win against Canada coupled with a Russian loss against Canada puts the U.S. back on top.

Re: Team USA--WJC

After watching him the last couple years he does not strike me as the type of player that would take a dive even given the clearest of opportunities to. He seems more like a casey conway. He might have wallowed on the ground longer than necessary, but I doubt he thought "oh please, let me embellish a hit from behind". beause those feel so great....

Re: Team USA--WJC

Does anyone know what time NHL.com will show the rebroadcast tomorrow? Not doing the 2:30 gig.

I believe NHL Network is showing it at 8pm, not sure if NHL.com is going to be the same or not.

Staying awake for the USA/Canada game. I know I won't wake up early, so I'll just crash for a few hours after the game... depending on the result ;)

Re: Team USA--WJC

I'll keep it spoiler free on the result for anyone watching later tonight but I will say I think Trouba is an excellent two-way defenseman. Michigan certainly missed him last night.

Re: Team USA--WJC

The heck with that. If this team could score a freaking goal, they could win Gold. But since they can't seem to score to save their lives, they might not even make the medal round. Relying on Trouba to score for you? What the heck? The Grimaldi-Miller-Gaudreau line did nothing again and Galchynuk is never on the ice. Bleech. And Seth Jones please cover your man tomorrow so he doesn't score the GWG for the third straight game. Thank You.

"Now that we have made it a one goal game, have the Canadians on their heels, and are controlling play, Imma go hit someone in the head."

- No captain ever before Jake McCabe

Terrible penalty parade ruined any chance of a comeback... Just awful...

Really feel bad for John Gibson. He's been incredible the last two games and if you would have told me we would have held Canada and Russia to 2 goals a piece I would have said we definitely we would have won one of the games.

Trouba continues to be an absolute monster at this tournament. If people remember, he was one of the lone bright spots on last year's team too.

Gaudreau is so snakebit it's comical at this point. He's had a great chance early in ever game we've lost in Europe so far and just can't seem to find the back of the net.

When your few elite scorers aren't producing, it's going to be tough to win.

Miller has been a disappointment and you have to wonder how much Noesen would have been able to help this team.

Gaudreau is hurting the team more than he's helping at this point it's time to put him in street clothes.

Re: Team USA--WJC

The few offensive factors this team has aren't producing. Plain and simple. I'm not a coach on this squad, so I don't really care what the reasons why are. It is too bad, though. But, these sorts of things happen in such short tournaments.
