Team USA--WJC

Re: Team USA--WJC

The 5 and game misconduct on Gosthisbehere was super weak. The Slovakian player took 3 strides and a pivot after he got hit before he took a ridiculous dive. Nobody who gets hit in the nuts takes that long to drop. I'm also pretty sure that was the same clown who acted dead during the Canada game.

European players have been doing this for years and officials haven’t caught on yet. It’s time to start calling embellishment in international play.

If they can't do it in the sport they care about, what makes you think they'll do it for hockey?

Hey, where's the guy who wanted Gaudreau in street clothes??? ;)

Canada will obviously be very difficult to beat, but this has already been a much better performance from team USA compared to last year.

Anything's better than last year. That was just painful.

2:30 AM cst?

Ugh. Not sure I can or want to do it.

It might be worth it if we win though...

3am cst puck drop (give or take a couple of minutes.) The first half hour is just the pregame. Not that an extra half hour of sleep is that much better.

Will need to make use of the DVR for this one, and watch it "live" when I wake up.

He must have read my post because he has certainly stepped it up the past two games;)

Re: Team USA--WJC

I'd like to see the USA make a concerted effort to stop the Nugent-Hopkins / Strome line which has been responsible for so much of Canada's offensive prowess. I think they need to make sure they switch quickly to ensure that a shut-down pair of D and the right set of forwards match up against this line. If I'm the USA, I would even consider mixing a line solely to defend and shut down this line....forget about any offense.

If the USA can hold this line down (easier said than done) and can stay away from stupid penalties, then they can definitely win this game. I don't think Subban has another performance like the first time he faced the USA in him again.

Go USA!

Grind line of Pietila-Bardreau-Hartman was used a lot against the Czech's top line today. On D, Seth Jones has been playing a lot better since being paired with Jake McCabe. Switch was made after the 1st period of the last Canada game.

Let's hope the offense keeps clicking as well. Gaudreau is doing so well he's making me forget I'm going to hate him in a month :D.
