Take a Stand Against Sexual Assault: Resist the TSA

Re: Take a Stand Against Sexual Assault: Resist the TSA

If we could pause our nichiren shoshu chanting about racial profiling for just a moment. . .we already profile people in airports, in a different context. Just go to the Miami terminal and buy a one way ticket to Bogota and pay cash. Then wait for the fun to begin. You may resume your chanting.

It's our fault. Got it.

If you're referring to me, I don't know how to multi quote, I usually feel like a computer retard around here.

No, it's not our fault that there are idiots out there willing to blow themselves up. You can't blame the victim for the action of the criminal.

But we aren't a completely innocent country, either. At the least, we put ourselves in dangerous situations we could and should otherwise avoid.

There's no doubt that some of our actions are the geopolitical equivilent of the provocatively dressed co-ed freshman getting blacked out drunk during a party at the known slimeball frat house, then wondering the next morning what happened and why she got sexually assaulted. That doesn't make the sexual assault ok, but the girl was still acting stupidly and unnecessarily put herself at risk regardless.

Likewise, the U.S. maintaining a significant military presence in Saudia Arabia, Iraq, and Afghanistan probably isn't the wisest of choices in terms of trying to fight terrorism.

You are, you're also a whole lot of other things.

Move mouse over the "Multi-quote this message" button, and click your left mouse button. (While reading this please emphasize BUTTON to an extreme level, because I am mocking you)

Everyone needs a hobby, jackwagon.

Re: Take a Stand Against Sexual Assault: Resist the TSA

Forgive my naiveté, but couldn't the security situation be improved if we stopped giving people a reason to hate us by ****ing around in the Middle East?

They don't like that others in their society are importing western culture and ruining their purity of Islam... if you think it has a lot to do with "Israel" you're fooling yourself...

(oh, why did he leave out Iraq and Afghanistan... well, its because people have been running from that script since before 9/11... that's why for a lot of western folks they think "solve Israel, solve the rest"... the thing is, they don't particular care about Israel or us only as far as it affects the idea that they're not on top of the world despite their righteousness... they don't like us because they're little girls dare to go outside uncovered... we're not dealing with forward thinking types folks.)

edit: most examples focus on how evil and decadent Americans are and less on the "sins" visited upon them by Americans... of course Islamic societies, particular Arabic ones, aren't big on being victims unless they're using it for leverage for something.

According to Bin Laden, the "reasons" why they hate us seem to change occasionally. He's talked about re-establishing the Caliphate among other things. The efforts we've made to save the lives of Muslims (Somalia, Kosovo, Kuwait) are of no import. These people can't even manufacture ball point pens. The worst of them favor public hangings of teen age homosexuals and stoning of women. They're pretty touchy and there's nothing we can do to mollify them. If we didn't have a military presence in that part of the world, they'd find another excuse.

It's not our fault. And there's no justification for their murderous efforts.

Quoting Mayor Daley I in a similar context: "When a father can't help his son, you can just kiss my a*s.

Come now. I largely agree with you here. I'm saying, it's crazy how much meat there is for people on both sides.

George Soros, involved in nearly every conspiracy theory that conservatives cook up, is invested in the TSA scanner company. That's odd right?

On the other hand, a former Bush official is also involved. You're telling me if this was 2007, every liberal wouldn't be up in arms about that?

The point is, the current TSA policy is silly, regardless of who's in charge.

Don't misunderstand my post. Da Mare was making a full throated defense of the city having purchased a multi-million dollar insurance policy from his son. "appearance of impropriety? what are your talking about?"

Chertoff/Soros/Ruby/Oswald? All diversions. This is how business in Washington is done. The salient point is the safety of the flying public has been put in the hands of the most recent graduating class of the Ringling Brothers clown college. Take a look at this, and try not to laugh:
