Take a Stand Against Sexual Assault: Resist the TSA

Re: Take a Stand Against Sexual Assault: Resist the TSA

I had to stand in front of some kid (which is a nice term for this "agent") while I look around wondering why they're holding me in place... dummy is trying to hold a long conversation on BS with somebody... a minute later they let me through. Nothing wrong... dummy just wanted to carry out a stupid conversation with the girl he was chatting up... it also seems it takes a little while for their machine to do the analysis or something equally dumb. Bonus was that I had a nice little TSA slip stating that my bag got the ol' random inspection. So very pointless.

The Daily Caller published this reassuring item today:

“An airline pilot is being disciplined by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for posting video on YouTube pointing out what he believes are serious flaws in airport security,” reports an ABC affiliate in Sacramento. The pilot, who is a veteran and has been deputized by TSA to keep a gun in the cockpit, filmed a series of encounters at TSA checkpoints and posted them online with criticism appended. According to ABC, “three days after [the pilot] posted a series of six videoclips recorded with a cell phone camera at San Francisco International Airport, four federal air marshals and two sheriff’s deputies arrived at his house to confiscate his federally-issued firearm.” Because the TSA will not tolerate dissent."

It would be unfair to categorize all or even most TSA employees as incompetent, out of control, petty, bureaucratic tyrants. However, the annecdotal evidence continues to build. . .

Re: Take a Stand Against Sexual Assault: Resist the TSA

no. "they" are agents, not officers. he typed "officers" cuffed her.

i understood what he wrote. ;)

Its the Transportaion Security Agency, the folks in Blue in the airport are Transportation Security Officers or TSO's for short

Re: Take a Stand Against Sexual Assault: Resist the TSA

I used the word "officers" because it was, as all you members of the Board of Twerps have pointed out, Austin police officers who assaulted this lady. Does that make it better? Would you have objected to Eric Cartman assaulting the lady, but it's okay for Austin cops to do it? It was the drop out "agents" who sicced the cops on her. She was assaulted under the authority of the TSA. This was a middle aged female American citizen, evidently not in great health, treated roughly at an airport because she wasn't quite submissive enough to suit the drones who are "guarding our safety." And this is okay with you? Because it was Austin cops who were "just following orders?" And the important thing here is the organizational chart and the nomenclature, not the behavior? Got it.

So TSA forced the officers to assault her

Of course. Police officers are brave, thoughtful individuals who never do anything wrong. Those feds (the bad kind, not the brave, thoughtful ones we've been told about since 9/11) MADE the police do bad things. See, heroes like Timothy McVeigh and Randy Weaver were freedom fighters against the jack-booted thugs the NRA warned us about (jerks like Colleen Rowley). Mysteriously, all those people became heroes beyond question in 2001. Just as mysteriously, they all returned to their previous roles as jack-booted thugs around January of 2009.

I predict that OP will now criticize me for bringing politics into what was a civilized, reasoned thread, and will then say something nasty about me. This will serve as proof somehow that he is a reasoned intellectual and I am an uncouth barbarian.

No, but it makes it different.

Not much different. The lady was still treated like a criminal at the behest of the TSA, of that there can be no doubt. If you run out of lipstick to put on this pig, I think Walgreen's is open late tonight for your last minute Christmas needs. Split hairs to your heart's content, what happened to her was outrageous.

Austin cops have been rough with Tucker Max.... that's enough to make me think poorly of 'em. ;)

No one said it wasn't outrageous but there is a big difference between TSA forcing the cops to beat an ol' lady and cops doing the wrong thing. Merry Christmas

I didn't use the word "force," it must be bouncing around in there with all the other voices you hear. TSA goons work in close cooperation with the local heat, and they were the ones who went tattling to mom about this victim. I'm guessing this "big difference" you're shopping here didn't mean much to the lady while she was being stomped. Flow charts, nomenclature, mission statements, over lapping authority and all the rest aren't inconsequential. But the issue is runaway bureauocracy treating Americans like criminals with no due process and no probable cause. If there were no TSA gestapo, this incident wouldn't have happened. Merry Christmas to you as well.

12:49 Christmas Morning and you are this intent on making your "point"? In the true sense of the word...awesome.

Take your striped shirt and whistle and shove 'em up your figgy pudding, jerkwad.
