why did bobby take padilla out of the game after a lead off single to his first batter starting the 8th with a 10-2 lead?!?!?
David Ortiz vents: People need to leave us alone and let us play baseball
In the midst of perhaps the Red Sox’ best stretch of the season — six wins out of their last seven games — designated hitter David Ortiz vented some pent-up frustrations before tonight’s game.
When asked if he was having fun with the Red Sox this season, Herald reporter Scott Lauber reports that Ortiz said, “Not really. Too much (expletive), man. People need to leave us alone and let us play baseball.”
In speaking about the media coverage, “Every day it’s something new, so much drama, so much (expletive).”
In response to the external pressure of playing in Boston, Ortiz said, “It’s starting to be the (expletive) it used to be. Playing here used to be so much fun. Now it’s something new every day.”
I love it when the high number players carry a team. You know what *is* fun?
Watching Middlebrooks, Saltalamacchia, Aviles, Kalish, and Nava pull this team a couple games over .500.
Given the pitching problems, the injuries to position players could have made this season completely joyless. It's the replacement players and 2nd-tier starters who have kept Boston from totally falling on their head.
The Curse of Giselle strikes again! The White Sox - Red Sox trade fell through because of Youkilis' past filled with injuries. Might be more difficult to move him than anticipated...
I was at the game last night. You know who else was there? Roger Clemens. Sitting in the monster seats. Wearing a white shirt and white Fenway 100 Years baseball hat. They showed him on the jumbotron and I was like "That looks like Roger Clemens." And then they put the graphic up that it was him and people started booing. I wonder why he showed up. I haven't seen anything about it.
Played for the Yankees and extended his career with steroids...greatest pitcher in red sox history run out of town by the duke. standing ovation required!
Played for the Yankees and extended his career with steroids...
Duke was right: He was near the end in 1996, then he found the Fountain of Youth in a needle.

so i can't appreciate what he did as a red sox?
duke motivated him to do what he did... so i have no problem blaming the duke for the whole steroids era!![]()
Is that what I said? I'm telling you why people booed.
