This young Ice Knights team has a lot of potential. Given the major leg laceration he received last weekend against Plattsburgh, I was surprised to see Petizian dressed last night against Cortland. I figured he might start tonight. He's got to be dealing with some serious discomfort. Peter Morgan has been a revelation; he's going to be fun to watch. Eight goals now for Cmunt.

I wouldn't call Geneseo a young team. Maybe a middle aged team still with potential, they have a good mix of upper classmen (7-JR and 8-SR) and under classmen (6-FR and 7-SO).

That's a fair correction. I'm thinking of the number of new players to college hockey in the line-up thus far--which is around eleven. Only one new transfer.

They have a good mix, and the D1 guys who have come in lately have put up some good #'s which help out big time...
 
Now that they finally opened the Bill Gray’s restaurant in the Bill Gray’s Iceplex, I decided to attend the Fredonia at Nazareth game and sit in the warm restaurant instead of the ice cold rink. While eating wings and having a beer.

There is one other SUNYAC game on the docket tonight. Elmira at Buffalo State.

After one period, Nazareth leads Fredonia, 1-0. Mike Herrera scored at 12:12, with a redirect right in front of the crease.

Also after one, Elmira leads Buffalo State, 1-0.

I sat at that window eating meals and snacking on many occasions when my daughter was in goalie camps over several summers. Fond memories.
 
Fredonia takes a 2-1 lead at 15:24. The trailing man, Antonio Demacopoulos, put in a rebound from the high slot.

And that’s how the second period ends.

Meanwhile, Buffalo State has exploded for four goals in the second period to take a 4-2 lead over Elmira after two.

Fredonia and Nazareth are heading to OT tied at two.

And it ends in a deadlock. Nazareth outshot Fredonia, 45-31, but I wouldn’t read too much into that. Fredonia gives up a lot of shots each game this year.

Buffalo State beat Elmira, 4-3.

The Canton tournament is cancelled due to COVID-19 protocols.

Potsdam was supposed to play Hamilton, and they still will. But at Hamilton on Saturday. The other game will not be made up.

Covid_19 protocols......such a non-definitive term,does anyone know what it means?? I would imagine very different it most situations?? What questions should be asked when we see/hear these words, at what point does it end??? asking for a friend ;-))

In this case, I can tell you that the Canton campus has had numerous outbreaks and a number of sports events have been cancelled since last weekend.

True. And I definitely believe college athletics are now the most strict when it comes to things like this. Even more so than high school athletics based on my non-scientific observation of my niece and nephews' activities.
