Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

Cheap shot, a foreign film. "Garden of the Finzi Continis," about a family of rich Jews who think they're immune to the ravages of the Holocaust. I'll have a better quote in a minute.

Try this:

"Now you take that diaper off your head and you put it back on your sister!"

Raising Arizona-this one I knew right away

"Anger, denial, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Sounds like a Jewish law firm"

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

Hint 2: Ben Vereen has a small but significant role.

Ahh, "All That Jazz" You mentioned you're not that strong with subtitled films (neither am I) but I'm also very weak with musicals.

"I was not born to live a man's life, but to be the stuff of future memory."

Finally an easy one for me-Excalibur

"You wanna know what my platform is? Here it is. I'm gonna soak the fat boys and spread it out thin."

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

Right on!

Broderick Crawford was scary good in that one but for whatever reason his career fell far short of that performance. My introduction to him came on that old TV show Highway Patrol. Each week he'd closed with a little bit of widsom, delivered in that style of his: "Keep your eye on the road or you'll be history, join us next week for another episode of Highway Patrol."

I'm doing this one from memory but I think I've got the gist of it:

Did you hear, my wife is pregnant?
Any idea who the father is?
Your ex-wife!

Waiting for jenny to get home for this one-I don't have a clue but she might. If not may need a clue of some sort.

I knew him from a lot of 70's throwaway TV movies and commercials. Then I saw him in ATKM -- holy crap, who knew the man could act?

Or maybe there are just roles people are born to play. I can't imagine any other Evita Peron than Madonna. ;)

It's like he was channeling Huey Long.

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

We're stuck completely-not even a clue-Can't even think of a movie that has something similar. Hint???

BTW- I too grew up with Highway Patrol. 10-4

Stars one of the Baldwin brothers. About a movie company shooting in a Vermont town. Some of the wittiest dialogue ever.

State and Main??? Only saw it once-honestly did not recall the 1quote but the clue gave it away.

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

If we were right-try this one-

"It only took me one night to realize that if brains were dynamite, you couldn't even blow your nose"

I haven't seen it in a while either, but IIRC the exchange occurred between Baldwin and one of the film crew guys.

Your quote seems really familiar, but I'm gonna need a hint.

Re: Stump the USCHO Movie Buff(Part III)

You normally don't need much of a hint but here goes-much of the movie this quote comes from is spent in a car. (BTW you and I seem to have so many of these movie and TV experiences in common-the younger crowd of posters just never had exposure to all the wonderful old TV shows we saw). Most of the time Jenny and I seem to talk to each other in TV quotes or Movie lines-and I have flashbacks like the lead character had in the wonderful HBO series Dream On.
