I also don't believe SCSU will go to the high school level for a coach; BUT as Eeyore stated there may be high school coaches who would qualify for with the "at least 5 years college experience" part. Just curious that's all.
My "shot in the dark" pick is Laura Haldorson. Hey said:Laura hasn't coached since 2008. I'm not sure what she's been doing since leaving the Gophers. I heard that the AD told the girls/players that a new coach would be in place for early to mid May. It can't help recruiting purposes when you don't have a coach. I heard that one player de-committed because of the uncertainty of a new coach. Their class seems to be small so far, hope that all changes.

As you know, you can't decommit if you signed an NLI. If you didn't sign, you didn't get money - so not a top recruit. Any 2015 or younger would be dumb to decommit until they knew who they new coach was. Why? Why not wait? Unless you were going to decommit anyway and just used this as an excuse to back out of your verbal commitment to the school.

Also, during the recruiting process, you know what coaches contracts are up and may not get renewed. This wasn't a termination early. This shouldn't have come as a surprise to any SCS recruit who committed.

That's a pretty good list. You have a gold medalist in each gender, and people who have played and coached on national-championship teams. Fetter and Harrington have experience with the Husky women, while Rud has been at SCSU on the men's side. They all seem qualified, so it becomes a question of what the program wants for a philosophy moving forward. Success will come down in large part to the ability to recruit, so I'd go with the person who was most convincing in that regard. It'll be interesting to see how this hire compares with that of Bemidji State.http://www.stcloudstate.edu/humanresources/search/default.asp
Here is the list ..
Tracy Cassano, John Harrington, Daniel Koch, jenny Potter, Jim Fetter, and Eric Rud.
Any thoughts?
The link says Koch withdrew.

1) Harrington

3) Potter
they need someone with name recognition, well proven personal success in hockey as well as team success if they want any hope of competing against the rest of the WCHA
barring that, maybe Michigan & Michigan State will get women's teams, the Big 10 women's league will form, and the rest can join up with CHA and then SCSU will be able to compete on a somewhat equal basis
I'm not sure how qualified Potter is, but she does have MN connections to players. As a coach, though, she's only had one year at a Division III school and her team was just so-so. Depends on what St. Cloud is looking for, I guess. I would think if they want to compete, they'll need a coach who has proven success.
