I'm going to borrow a term from Jeff Oftos on GPL. The Sioux look absolutely impotent on offense. Impotent. They aren't generating enough chances on offense. They aren't finishing the ones they do create. ANd they sure as hell don't have a rhythm.

Anyone have any idea how many minutes Blood logged tonight? As was noted in the score update thread...he never seemed to leave the ice.

Swept by both our biggest rivals in 3 weeks. Very frustrating.:mad:

I honestly think he played over 130 minutes this weekend.

I thought they generated plenty of opportunities. They just didn't finish. They also were able to hold the offensive zone for longer periods than the Gophers were for most of the game. They remind me of the Gophers the last few years. If you can't finish that's the way the whole season can go for you. No way the Gopher team from the last few years scores those two goals at the end to win it. Rau spent the entire game on the backdoor side and finally got rewarded at the end. That's scorer's patience that hasn't been seen here since Vanek (and I'm not comparing them as players, just this one facet).

Blood never left the ice. I don't know how any college kid can play that many minutes.

The flowers on the lapel were poppys in honor of Remembrance Day to honor those who have died in the line of duty since WWI, observed by countries of the (British) Commonwealth. Seen prominently on all NHL coaches in late October/Early November.

When you only get 19 shots, you aren't generating the chances you need to win a game consistently. I would have called the Gophers the last few years as impotent.

I think people will want to give Blood crap for taking three penalties, but it is bound to happen when you play so many minutes. Insane.

David Backes like in that sense. He is simply impossible to tire out.

Back when I played soccer with Backes in High School, we had a full contact drill where basically anything goes. You push, shove, tackle, whatever (no cheap ****) to get the ball and score. He went through the entire team. Twice. ANd we had some BIG guys on that team. One guy tried jumping on his back to drag him down. He just carried him, dragged the guy with him, and scored. He's a beast.

Smart SOB as well. Aced the EE program.

Anyways, Blood is awesome as is Dell. I hope for a split against these guys in January.

You have no idea. He finished third in his high school class. #1 went to Johns Hopkins on a full ride. The other went on to get what I believe was a 4.0 in a chemical engineering program. He didn't a B from something like middle school all the way until we left college.
