Signs of the Apocalypse

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

Apocalyptic....

Fluery aux ******s!

Les Canadien elimine les Penquins!

Well you have some serious work to do on your "français".

Incroyable. They showed the stats of Halak in the 5 elimination games todate this year. 5-0, faced 200+ shots, only 8 goals against and a save percentage of .965.

Halak is freaken amazing. He could carry the Habs all the way to hoisting the cup. The team just keeps overachieving and rising to the challenge. They are fun to watch.

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

I would hardly call these low lifes "fans" of the Canadiens or hockey in general. They're just a bunch of losers who are looking for any chance to let out some of their pent up agression.
If memory serves me correct their were similar incidents on the "Red Mile" serveral years ago when Calgary made their famous run for the cup. We got em in Toronto too but the Toronto sports teams never give em anything to get excited about!
Check out that shot of the guy leaving the liquor store with the half gallon of "Grey Goose". Might not know a hell of a lot about hockey that boy but he does have good taste in liquor

Chirp, as a card carrying "Red Mile" Club Champion I must dispute your claim that Calgary had "similar incidents". The following is an excerpt from the wikpedia file on the "Red Mile"

"The Red Mile gained worldwide noteriety both from the lack of violence while upwards of 55,000 fans celebrated their teams success, as well as the Mardi Gras-like atmosphere as soceital norms were routinely flouted, particularly by women flashing their breasts."

The mantra was "Shirts off for Kiprusoff!"...and the City has never been the same since...

Well now.. i stand corrected. Women flashing their breasts? How did i miss that?... How did you ever survive before Wikepedia?

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

Ya for sure..in fact I still got an 8 track that permantly plays Deep Purple, Smoke on the Water but I have to jam a matchbook cover in the side to get it to play...

I didn't read far enough down before posting that last response....called it though! :D

Ain't that the truth. If Chicago wins the cup this year, the crown for longevity in NHL futility is handed over to the Leafs.

Longest time since Last Cup win:
( of previous winners continuously in the league ):

Chicago (3) - 1961 - 49 years
Leafs (11) - 1967 - 43 years
---------------Start of expansion beyond original 6--------
Bruins (5) - 1972 - 38 years
Flyers (2) - 1975 - 35 years
Islanders (4) - 1983 - 27 years
Flames (1) - 1989 - 21 years
Oilers (5) - 1990 - 20 years
Canadians (24) - 1993 - 17 years
Rangers (4) - 1994 - 16 years (At the time broke a 54 year dry spell)
Dallas (1) - 1999 - 11 years
------------------------------------------------------------------
No one else over 10.

There are also a bunch of teams who have never won in the modern era, the oldest being:
St-Louis (68)
LA Kings (68)
Buffalo (70)
Vancouver (72)
Washington (74)

Canadians
Is it mistakes like this that are the reason you're not allowed in Quebec?

Meanwhile, this is pretty cool actually....whoever does win will be rewarding their town for several years of "patient" support!

San Jose - never won, year of entry - 1991, or 19 years.

Good catch on the "Les Habitants" faux pas.

I only listed the early days expansions teams that never won.
Blues, Canucks, Sabres, Kings and Caps...All have been to the final at least once.

Several more recent francises never won:
Sharks (91), Sens (92), Panthers (93), Coyotes/Jets (96/79), Predators (99), Trashers (00), Blue Jackets (01) and Wild (01)

Thanks for the info, never knew all of that.

Once the Hawks lift the cup...the Leafs Fans in Toronto will be able to have a parade...afterall they are first in line to be last.

Losers since 67 and still selling as many $14.00 warm Molson draft as you can drink...step right up!

Hey, did ya hear Toronoto might be getting an NFL team...;)

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

Do I smell that sweep coming on in four straight tonight...as I predicted 5 4? What foresight! Or will your team have to cancel their tee time tomorrow? :D GO BRUINS!

(Now I hope I didn't just go and jinx them:( ....well just as was writing this the Bruins scored...so maybe the hockey gods aren't too unhappy :) )

Trillium...let that be a lesson to you. It's VooDoo and it's your fault they lost.

Fore!

Re: Signs of the Apocalypse

The Greatest comeback in NHL history! Not only do the Flyers come back from a 3-0 deficit in the series but come back from a 3-0 deficit in game 7 with 4 unanswered goals!

Apocalyptic as it made be... for the first time in NHL history # 7 plays # 8 for the Conference Championship. Unbelievable!
