SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

I think the best statistic is the number of wins. Offense usually wins games, as the team that scores the most wins the game. Goalies rarely score goals, and pitchers don't hit a whole lot of home runs. However, they do use a win vs. loss stat for both of them. So, who has won the most games? Dunn or Dunn? Consistent, spectacular, whatever, the fact is he's winning games. Let's see what happens tonight. I don't care who he puts in goal, as long as we continue winning. Maybe it's time to put Hardy in there, or maybe Laurel.

You mean if a team scores more goals they win.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

If this felt so good, you'll probably just drop dead on the spot if scsu ever wins a game that actually matters.

We need to salvage the split or this guy could die of happiness and pride.

Enjoy it while it lasts. The clock keeps ticking towards the NCAA's and then...:(
Winning a league game on the road doesn't matter? It's not going to help secure a higher position in the WCHA tournament? It's not going to help the PWR come NCAA tournament time?

I might be mistaken, but securing a higher PWR and more league points always matters. What the team does with those two things is something else entirely...

Interesting that you hid that last sentence in white...

I for one will be pulling for you guys to get your first NCAA win this Spring. But last night was nothing more than a good win and it isn't a game that matters all that much when you look at the bigger goal of winning the NCAA's. At least not to the Badgers.

For Wisconsin, the M Cup was a pipe dream at best and we need to work on bringing solid effort on a consistent basis. For us, a 1 through 3 seed won't be as big an issue as playing solidly. This has been a concern all season for us as we will play lights out one night and like crap the next.

I don't care who or where we play, if we do like last night it will be golfing time real quick. If we play up to our potential, we can legitimately win it all, even if we are a 2 or 3 seed out East. Either way, I'll be watching it on TV, so I don't care if we get the Regional in the cities, which would most likely be a hostile crowd for us anyway. I just don't see the Gopher fans(or any other state schools) rooting for us.

So nice win last night, but being a number one seed doesn't guarantee anything. Other than maybe you'll get to see your team in the Regional close to home.

Only if you win tonight. If you don't, that game's going to help push the Badgers to the brink of a #2 seed.

You're absolutely right, but for us Husky fans having a chance to see our team as the #1 seed IN St. Paul.....well it couldn't get much better than that. It would give our boys a home game atmosphere. Could they get that first NCAA win out East, sure, because it comes down to how you play that one game. But as fans it would be that much sweeter to be there in person. In that sense, the game last night mattered a great deal and so does the one tonight. Just getting 2 pts in Madison is a job well done, anything more than that is gravy.

WE got a monkey off our back, which is why it was such a big game for US.

Don't look now, but you might be saying that tonight's game is important to YOUR squad. ;)

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

So I heard security threatened to have LwB thrown out for making too much noise at the game last night.

True story  Actually, they told the whole group of us. Turns out you're not allowed to use profanity in the Kohl Center, you know, unless its pro-Badger profanity.

Ask FTLT about when her husband found out about that. :D

Well... individually you're not allowed to use profanity either. The key is when students use it, its in large groups :D

Per-Mar can't kick us all out, so they don't bother with any of us.

EDIT: Also, please win tonight. SCSU is a good team, don't get me wrong, but a sweep at this point is not a good sign at all...

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Festler out with headaches from hits sustained last night . . .I guess its more precautionary then anything.
