SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

if you don't like peoples post's then ignore them and don't respond, thats what i do with most of yours. Its a forum and people are able to express there opinion and thoughts. You don't like it??? go live in Iran or China where people don't have those rights. I'll continue to post my thoughts and opinions and you will do the same, you CAN choose not to participate in the debate, know one is forcing you to argue another point and certainly not forcing you to disparage other people thoughts. If you want to debate a point then go ahead and do it but trying to make people look stupid, or uneducated when it comes to hockey borders on the line of grade school crap. So debate, express your opinions but there is no need for personal attacks toward other people. My opinions are my opinions, i'm not asking anyone to agree with them, i put them out there to show a different point of view and I NEVER use personal attacks toward other peoples opinions on this forum. Maybe you and some other people on this site can start to do the same??? then again probably not...

Wow.

I thought the whole point of these forums was to disparage other people's thoughts.:p
Huh, who knew:D

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

If i was St Cloud i would try to make your hay friday night because saturday is Senior night, we have a big senior class, even tho it is likely we will get home ice, UW always seems to pull out a win on senior night..

Unless you are clueless, it is obvious this will be an extremely difficult weekend for the Huskies. And yes I agree. A Friday win would be a nice accomplishment. This is the most talented Badger squad I've seen in a long time. Eaves actually lets them play offense! That's a new one.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

What?! 5 WCHA teams are in the top ten of the PWR. Every team except MTU has a record better than .500 in non-conference games. The league 45-22-6 in non-conf games. The top 5 teams are 26-7-2!

The WCHA schedule is brutal. They beat each other up all year. There isn't a deeper conference in the country this year.

True, and they are the deepest, but they're not a powerhouse conference. Its still the best conference, and the WCHA can have a down year and be the best conference. College hockey as a whole is having a down year, no great Hobey candidates, no great leagues, few great teams. Hell, St. Cloud has been up and down, losing to Michigan Tech, tying Anchorage at home, getting beat 8-1 by UND at home, and we're in the top 5 teams in the nation. Many years, with the team as up and down as we've been, we'd be between 10 and 15.

Ok... who peed in 14's Cheerios this morning?

And take this for whatever you want, but if you go on a tirade because someone tells you to "shut up" I hope everything goes your way in life. You have every right to say whatever you want about hockey, yet RF has every right to tell you to shut up.

Incredibly talented but like early Gopher teams of the decade, they'll only go as far as their goaltending takes them, and while both Bennett and Gudmanson have shown talent, they haven't shown consistency, and I'd say that's their weakest area.

Aye!

The delegate from Newport would like to respectfully abstain.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Question:

Lady and Mr. Wore Black will be showing us around Mad Town this weekend, it'll be my first trip to the Kohl Center, but my question is where would you guys suggest we go either before or after the games? And I doubt it, but are there places where the regulars on here go? I wouldn't say its a huge group, but for example if you went to see games in St. Cloud and wanted to see USCHO posters hanging around, I'd say MC's Dugout would be your best bet.

Do you want to be around students or adults?
State Street Brats is near fraternity row and within walking distance of the Kohl.
Essen Haus is really good German food and beer.
Paisan's near the Capitol has good thin crust pizza.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Well, I turned 27 on Sunday, so I'm kinda in between both groups. :D

I'm thinking that the students would consider you very old. Test it out. Go to a house party! :D

Believe me, you're at the adult table.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

I was a student when you were learning to walk, so I fit into the "old people" category. Are you looking for food or just beer?

Food and beer, but we're staying right by the Kohl Center, so the plan is walking all weekend as our ride stays with his gf on campus. And no, no house parties for this guy, it'll be all bars.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Plenty of bars in the area. Aim north towards Univ. Ave, then on to State St. and you should be fine.
Madison is non-smoking, so you won't reek at the end of the evening.

If you want to give the refs a piece of your mind afterwards, you could try the Nitty Gritty, right across the street from the KC

Dotty Dumpling's Dowry is just across w johnson st on frances st and has really good burgers and plenty of beer on tap. It's a more low key scene than the Gritty which will have tons of drunk students.

Great Dane and Old Fashioned are great places in Capitol Square but that is a bit farther of a walk.
