SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

If you want to give the refs a piece of your mind afterwards, you could try the Nitty Gritty, right across the street from the KC

If you want to give the refs a piece of your mind before the game, you could try the Nitty Gritty. The way they call the games sometime, I think they tip a few before the game. :D

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Well you could make it into a lovely bar hop going to the game. First go to State St Brats. Then go towards the KC and Stop at the Red Shed and get yourself a huge mason jar of some Long Island Iced Tea. Then after that go next door to Wando's and get yourself a fishbowl, they make it any color you choose. then walk a block to the Nitty and finish off at Dotty's.
You can also throw in Brother's at the beginning or after Wando's since they are a block apart.
I have done this run and it is a good time:D

You know, one time MANY years ago, I actually did go to the bar with the refs after the game, and it was the Nitty Gritty. Come to think of it, it was even a Badger/SCSU first round playoff series. Those guys turned out to be hilarious.

If you can "run" after that then you are da' man. I'd need my stomach pumped.

20 years ago, no problem. Now problem, I'm getting too old for that S**t.
The mason jars were good even back then. :D

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Dotty Dumpling's Dowry is just across w johnson st on frances st and has really good burgers and plenty of beer on tap. It's a more low key scene than the Gritty which will have tons of drunk students.

Great Dane and Old Fashioned are great places in Capitol Square but that is a bit farther of a walk.

I am a big fan of Dotty's. I am usually there before every game, just Saturday this weekend. If you are looking for cheap beer, on Friday there is $2 pitchers at the Churchkey (it is kind of trashy but cheap...).

Side note....
Aye

Many years ago I played in a softball tourney with Dan Schachte, he was **** funny also.

The last time I got really **** faced was 10 years ago. And it involved something that came out of a mason jar at the Red Shed. Ahh the good old days (sniff, sniff). :o

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

It's going to be a great series this weekend in wisconsin. Huskies are looking to get back on the positive wagon after that TERRIBLE game last saturday against the UND injuns. Wisco is a team not to underestimate, but feeling like a split would be in order this weekend. and varsity wisconsin, how dare you even say that wisconsin is the real state of hockey. you have NO tradition from that state and never will in the game of hockey. Stick to cheese.....

GO HUSKIES!!!!

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Anybody know of the TV situation on Friday night, i have sat tickets and have not seen anything for tv on friday night, not even public televison delayed.

I think paying for a webcast is your only option for Friday night.

A number of years ago he was home for the Summer and was on my men's league team in Verona. He got kicked out of the league for fighting. Not kidding.

Struck me as VERY ironic at the time.

The best bar in Madison is "the Pub" on state street. It is a dirty place with picnic tables, golden tee, pool tables and foosball. The drinks are actually strong and cheap. I wish I could be in Madison this weekend, but it jsut didn't work out this weekend.

The pub is best in spring and summer when you can sit by the window and rate the girls when they walk past and flip you the finger. :D
