SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

The pub is best in spring and summer when you can sit by the window and rate the girls when they walk past and flip you the finger. :D

Back in my day at the Pub PBB, if you gave a co-ed a "Good" rating, they would flash, not flip!

In Edith Bunker's words, "Those were the days......"

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Anybody know of the TV situation on Friday night, i have sat tickets and have not seen anything for tv on friday night, not even public televison delayed.

The game on Saturday is being shown on tape delay on public television. Nothing on Friday unless you want to watch the Bucks on FS Wisconsin.

The game on Saturday is also being shown live on Channel 14 in Madison.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Monday's on State Street. Although I tend to stay away now that I'm "older". Defintely some really strong drinks however.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

That sweep was in the middle of UNH starting out 2-6-2. It would've been much more impressive if itd been a more recent series, and while UNH may be ahead of Hockey East, Hockey East isn't exactly having an amazing year this year.

We didn't blow UAA out of the water, but CC, DU, UND, MN and MSU-M all failed to do what we were the only team to do, and that's sweep in Anchorage.

Using the latest USCHO poll (and the the order in which others receiving votes is listed), UNH's "starting out 2-6-2" involved wins against the #15 team (Maine) & #24 team (Northeastern), loses to #1 (Miami), @ #18 (Mass), @ #21 Mass-Lowell, @ #27 Rensselear, & the pair @ #3 (Wisconsin...but the logic of using your beating a team as somehow devaluing that win somehow escapes me...sort of like beating a team knocks them out as a TUC so it is better to lose then win), and ties with #1 (Miami) and #8 (BC). 2-6-2 playing a pair againsst #1 & @ #3, #8, #15, @#18, @#21, #24, & @#27 is not great by any stretch, but certainly understandable given teh quality of opponent.

While I know sweeping at home against UNH (especially in the middle of a 2-6-2 stretch without Hockey East being "amazing") pails in comparision to getting a vaunted split at AA that none of CC, DU, UND, MN and MSU-M could do, it would be nice to mention that DU was minus Cheverie and that the WCHA is not exactly "amazing" either in terms of MN & UND really being down from where they normally are.

We'll get the best measurring stick of who is better this weekend and it should be fun.

That post looks like a lot of work. As for the last sentence, in the words of the great Michael Scott, "That's what she said!"

So from the sound of it no matter what happens Friday the Huskies should head home that night, no need to play the Saturday game with it being Senior night and all. They can start their bye week a day early!

Play the game. UW14's predictions are a contra-indicator. His taunting is usually followed by a Badger loss.

Just a reminder if you don't go, TVW is 14 on Charter AND DirecTV. Over the air it's digital 3.2. (You can get it on DISHNetwork if you have an antenna plugged into your satellite receiver.)
When I watch tape delays or playback the DVR, the video is horrible...why doesn't WHA-TV go HiDef with all of their money? It was really embarrassing watching the NHL Network from Madison in Low Def.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Unless you are clueless, it is obvious this will be an extremely difficult weekend for the Huskies. And yes I agree. A Friday win would be a nice accomplishment. This is the most talented Badger squad I've seen in a long time. Eaves actually lets them play offense! That's a new one.

yeah that and there is no neutral zone trap to hold leads like we had in 06. Its fire wagon hockey for the most part...

I would also give the strongest drink award to Monday's. I count two mixed drinks there as 6 nearly any place else. :)

So that is one of your local channels you get on Directv? Is that a PBS channel? Any chance someone out of your area could get that channel on Directv?

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

I love how someone made a group on facebook dedicated to Garret Raboin..

I love how half the members are Raboins. I mean, he may have more family in the group that has a different last name, but there are 8 Raboins in there. I just wish we could get him to join. :(

He has an Aunt Cookie! Aunt Cookie Raboin! That's the greatest name of all time.

Hockey Talk:

I thought I'd heard the Big Ten was showing one of the games, but I guess they're showing the Gophers instead. Crap on Friday, but awesome Saturday, 'cause my hungover (or still drunk) *** will wake up just to watch that game. Hopefully the Gophs can give us all a little breathing room and steal some points this weekend.

Are any UW fans going to the games?

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

A number of years ago he was home for the Summer and was on my men's league team in Verona. He got kicked out of the league for fighting. Not kidding.

Struck me as VERY ironic at the time.

Did he pull his jersey over his head ? :D

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

The best bar in Madison is "the Pub" on state street. It is a dirty place with picnic tables, golden tee, pool tables and foosball. The drinks are actually strong and cheap. I wish I could be in Madison this weekend, but it jsut didn't work out this weekend.

I disagree. Old Fashioned is my favorite by far. They have so much beer to select from that I get a different beer every time I go and still haven't had one twice. Heaven.
