Well unless a miracle happens and lets face it it won't, thsi year is a bust....:( I agree with Euro, this team needs to find some positives to build toward next year.

This thread was buried deep, kind of like the Huskies. Bump just to say I saw highlights of the women's game tonight and their road jerseys are SWEET.

That own goal by Johnson pretty much sums up the Huskies entire season....The said thing is if they would have put the heart and soul they put into this weekend and last weekend the entire season they would be a top ten team right now, not a 10th place team with a whopping 4 home wins......:(

Yeah, and Lee was out of position, allowing Johnson plenty of net for his tip in.

Not even I would blame Lee on that one.....Johnson had no reason to tip it since the defender was never going to get the puck. he should have just let it go to the corner and go get it. he would have got to the puck first any way.

The major problem on this team is they only have two decent defenseman(Jensen and Big O). That means Barta and Johnson log tons of ice time because the third pairing is pathetic and Motzko can't trust them on the ice at key times. That causes the other guys to tire out to quickly and when that happens guys like Barta and Johnson can't keep up.......

As bad as that goal was, and as frustrating of a loss that was on Saturday, our favorite team played pretty well against the 2nd ranked team in the nation. We are a very scary team heading into the post season, We will be at the final five, we are way too talented on the offensive end.

Side note, Jensen, Dowd, and Reid are the future of this team and I am very excited about that.

Respectfully disagree. Gravel is a young colt who logged valuable minutes of time this weekend. Yes, he was -2 for the weekend and out there for the GT goal on Friday but he will be a mainstay in the future. You HAVE to play him. It'll pay huge dividends. This was an outstanding weekend of hockey. Competitive, up and down the rink and two very exciting games vs one of the top teams in college hockey. The last two weekends have me excited for the playoffs to start. The Huskies will be a threat to anyone. And, if it's it's on the road so be it.

I certainly agree that SCSU is a scary team at this point in the season. The talent on your team is better than where they sit, and the last two weekends have shown SCSU can play with the top teams in the league. That being said, there is a very good chance you'll be on the road for the first round of the playoffs and a decent chance you'll have to play one of the top 4 teams. I wouldn't be surpized to see SCSU in the Final Five, but I also wouldn't assume you will be there. All four of the league's top teams have generated significantly more offense then SCSU and your defense has been suspect.

Jensen seemed to be on the ice every other shift. Does someone have actually ice time for these guys? Gravel has improved a lot as the season as gone on, but if we are being honest the defense is the weak point for this team...

We were talking after Saturdays game, and it was agreed that it's much easier to tolerate a loss when the team makes great effort. Unfortunately, that was rare in the first half. At least they're playing well at the right time-- maybe..

I think this great effort is to little to late to save this season. Sure it is possible to win the playoff title, but the odds are slim.

There's a chance I might win the lottery, too. They're also raffling off that Arctic Cat whatchamacallit during the Wisconsin series, and there's a chance I might win that. So many chances! I think there is a good chance of getting to the Final 5. Either way, I'll still get to see some good hockey at the X

Me too! But I have a hunch if we play UNO in first round, we sweep! You heard it here first. No wait you didn't hear it, you read it.

Anybody know the rotation for which pairing we'll play twice next year and which between BSU and UNO we travel to? I'm just curious to know not only for looking at how tough or schedule will be but also which of MN, DU, UMD and UAA we'll get a chance to do a road trip along with the others.

I thought we were paired with UND, UNO, and Bemidji for at least a couple years

No, we're paired with UND every year, and UNO and BSU this year; next year we'll get either MN & UW, DU & CC, MSU-M & UAA or UMD and MTU.
