SCSU 2010-2011 Season Thread- Frozen Four or Bust

Re: SCSU 2010-2011 Season Thread- Frozen Four or Bust

That thing is never getting built. Also, where have these Huskies been all year?

Too much private investment? That doesn't make any sense to me at all. Some arenas have been fully-funded privately, but 12 million out of 30 million is too much? Someone please explain.

It's a gopher conspiracy initiated by Dahl to keep us as "minny's little brother"

Maybe SCSU has to be careful in regards to the sale of the naming rights being attached to a public building.

What about Amsoil Arena in Duluth or The Sanford Center in Bemidji? Both sold naming rights and received more public funding than the potential NHC renovation.

Ok, so where has that Husky team been all year? That was a great weekend of hockey!

The thing that really stood out to me on Saturday was their physical play - they were finishing checks all over the ice. I also thought Hano was more physical and willing to get his nose dirty. Maybe playing with Roe and Eddy is wearing off on him? Hopefully he keeps up the intensity.

Both of those arenas are off campus. The Amsoil isn't considered "owned" by the university either... not sure about Sanford.

It looks to me like somebody from the University of Minnesota got a gig at the IRS. ;)

Yeah, finally they get physical. Hano is looking better and better.

I told you guys in the sconnie series thread that you boys have a dangerous team right now. I would really hate to see your team make the trip to Mariucci in the first round, especially after that beatdown they laid on us for that Friday night game. Denver should be a telling series for your team as I think the true sconnie team is starting to show through(only beating crappy teams and losing to good teams).

I singlehandidly took a newb from green to red, and that made me proud enough to bump this thread. :D

Nobody care's about homecoming just like nobody care's about the Football team. Maybe doing this will push alumni to get more involved and then homecoming could become fun again.......

Why not move homecoming to mid-October and use a hockey weekend as the basis for homecoming instead of foosball? Terrible to see traditions die.

Nobody cares about DII football, period! Nobody!! When the DIII fb team across town consistantly outdraws the DII team year after year, maybe someone in the admin some years ago (like about 50) should have said, "ya know, maybe we need to push this fb thing a little harder." I've been ripped before and I'm gonna get ripped again, but if Gino has some forsight, he'll say let's go DI get into comp. with the Dak. schools and put that thing on the map.

It really is not much of a tradition at all. There is a modest boost to attendance for homecoming at best. They need to do much better at marketing all of the games and events. Copious amounts of improvements needed.

Homecoming lately has generated little traffic from downtown St. Cloud to the game itself. It's become a drunkfest marketed by SCSU for the benefit of the taverns on St. Germain. I happened to be downtown middle of the aft and saw all the trashed people. Makes little sense for the University to sponsor something that has little relation to the game going on a Husky Stadium.

Oh why not pick a weekend with both football and hockey at home. Afternoon game for football on Saturday, and you have the evening hockey game as well for the administration to tell the alumni that they need more money.
