Per the AP
BREAKING: Democratic leader Chuck Schumer says the Senate will confirm President Joe Biden's upcoming Supreme Court pick "with all deliberate speed." https://t.co/l6nTWcmfUr

--------

From my past that's code for "not anytime soon". A very unfortunate choice of words by the Majority Leader.

@mkraju
New -- Schumer is looking at a quick timeframe to confirm Biden's nominee to the court -- and he will follow a similar timeline that Republicans employed to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the court in 2020, per a source familiar with this thinking.

Literal LOL

@Patrick_Reusse
There is no age requirement to serve on Supreme Court. I nominate as Breyer's replacement a 32-yr-old devoted lib in extraordinary physical condition & with ancestors that have lived healthy into their 90s before succumbing to being hit by a bus.

This guy is a sports writer and general curmudgeon supreme. Absolute gut laugh because I didn't expect this at all.

I agree with him 2000%.

Joe was saying "all due speed" is usually code for "when we get around to it". In this case not so much.

Kep,

Your choice was one of the names floated as was ndhockeys. Some weirdos are pushing Kamala because they want her off the ticket.

If the GOP puts up a legit fight or Manchin and Sinema screw the Caucus I will bet my savings that the Midterms go sideways for the GOP. They have nothing to gain. It us minimal red meat for the voters.

Minimum age, maximum radical left.

I wish but it won't be. Biden doesn't have either the desire or the will for that.

At this point I don't care. It isn't as if a Centrist is going to go along with the radical right's Nazi salute from the bench. All I want for Christmas is 24 straight years of Democratic presidents to turn this into an 8-1 Dem majority.

If Biden went super Left Manchin and Sinema would definitely revolt. He won't go full Centrist either. He will find the sweet spot.

That said...if he did go Hard Left that would bait the GOP into a fight which would definitely light up the base to vote in the midterms. It wouldn't be my advice mind you but there are advantages.

I'd go completely far left. Win the midterms. Fuck Manchin and Sinema.

Its a rather big risk and it locks in that your nominee doesn't make the bench unless there is GOP defectors. If Sinema was up for re-election it would probably work better.

1. Even with Biden having every intention of dialing in on a black woman for the nomination (and I know the counter-arguments that are already coming to this) he could have done without saying it outloud
2. Yes I know Reagan flat out said the court needs a woman but the orcs are incapable of understanding what the means
3. Sometimes a bit of tact goes a long way

That said I freaking love the schadenfreude of the knuckle-draggers whining about "nominate the best candidate" after the effed over Biden and pushed through Baby Huey. If Biden gets his nominee through it will be a way too long momentous occasion happening that makes so many heads explode.

The orcs don't matter.

The black woman promise he made on the campaign trail is very important to the black women who won him the nomination and the general election.

We're not doing things based on Republicans' reactions anymore. They lost the right to be consulted when they nominated Dump. They are no longer relevant as anything but an environmental hazard.

You're back!

And with a Kamala slam ripped from the pages of National Review. :-)

Don't read it. And what task that she's been given, HAS she accomplished?

BTW, because I live in Montgomery County MD, where the Dem primary IS the general election for county-wide races, I registered as D so i can vote the incompetents out that Takoma Park keeps foisting on the rest of the county.

Guess you can call me DIPO (Democrat in Primary Only).

Don't read it.

You do, without realizing it. At any given time there are only about four ideas in the conservaverse, being shuttlecocked between all its various media and punditry outlets. Those are the four tires that keep the Rage Machine rolling: {women, minorities, freedumb, pout-of-the-day}. Kamala can count for either of the first two so she's efficient.
