Not SCOTUS related...but 2 of them men who were convicted of killing Malcolm X are about to be exonerated because the FBI and cops withheld evidence against them.

Does anybody not know the FBI killed Malcolm X?

They infiltrated NOI, had their stooges murder him, and pinned it on two other guys so theirs wouldn't tell.

There are only two true conspiracy theories. And they aren't even conspiracies, they're just special operations. The FBI killed Malcolm and the CIA killed JFK.

OK, there are three. Epstein didn't kill himself.

But honestly, none of these are conspiracies. A conspiracy is all the MLB owners colluding to drive down free agent compensation, or oil companies writing their own regulations. Each of these three events was simply a violent act planned and executed by a tiny number of people: as few as 3 or 4. They were domestic terrorist actions. They just happened to be kinda sorta connected to people who occupied official positions, but they were not official policy. Like Kurtz in Cambodia, they just thought it up and did it.

And then everyone wonders why the players went on strike to prevent a salary cap and why they were so militant about it…

So, a lot of "FUCK" quote tweets on this one

@SCOTUSblog
John Roberts, who almost certainly will be a pivotal vote in this case, makes his first remarks of the day. He says fetal viability was not initially an issue in Roe v. Wade, and he says that Justice Blackmun (Roe's author) later suggested that Roe's viability line was dicta.

Can someone explain what that last line means to an idiot like me?

Dicta are things in judicial opinions that aren't controlling, they're just there for flair.

"Legally the cop wins because of qualified immunity, but the cop is still a dick nonetheless."

The first phase is the controlling decision, the second half is dicta.

With Roberts arguing the viability line was just dicta, he's framing it as something that doesn't matter.

Based on the questioning I am hearing about this morning Roe is finished IMO. I could be wrong but I don't see any way it survives.

Thomas must want to get his marriage annulled cause there is no way interracial marriage survives if the GOP gets rolling. As my dad said months ago, if they take down Roe (something he never believes is possible) then all rights are on the table to be destroyed.

From what I'm hearing, it sounds like Roberts is likely looking for a way to gut Roe and Casey without technically overturning them.
