DGF: Like I said, Couric's trying to sell books.

The KC/RBG video here (without the alleged removed quote obviously).

RBG uses " ... dumb ... disrespectful ... stupid ... arrogant ... " in the video. That's not the RBG I recall. Saying it's their right is the RBG I recall (and she's 100% on that).

Two things: If you agree with RBG, what’s the point of bringing this up?
Secondly, it’s possible for someone to believe it’s a person’s “right” to be able to do something, such as kneel during the national anthem, AND STILL find that right to be stupid, disrespectful, arrogant, etc. when exercised.
I think abortion should be legal under literally all circumstances, but I don’t think I’d want my wife and I to have an abortion, and I’d find someone who said “I got an abortion at 8 weeks because I want to continue partying with my friends” a disrespectful, immature a—hole, but I’d still defend said right to get an abortion.
I’m sure people who get “legitimate” abortions would be okay with being called “immature”, “baby killers”, etc., as long as they could get said abortion legally in a safe facility. Conservatives taking away rights because they’re offensive, disrespectful, arrogant, etc., is the problem.

So, we had a 130 page opinion in Texas by an Obama Judge throwing out Texas's new Abortion law. It was well written (from what my law podcast told me that I listen to) and was ironclad. They basically said because of the precedence in Roe that there was no one who could overturn his decision except the Supreme's. Yet, somehow, without telling anyone a reason (zero, vs. 130 pages) the appeals court reinstated the Texas Law. "The court's order did not detail its reasoning behind the ruling, which is expected to be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court."

I don't get it.

It's what actual judicial activism looks like...

Please, Scooby. You think that miserable Boomer blowhard dictates the pace and direction of the country now? Maher is good for two solid "New Rules" segments a year, but he and his ego are largely part of the problem in this country, not the solution.

Side note, I have it on good authority that he once threw a tantrum at an airline lounge because there wasn't enough seating available for him and his entourage, and the staff refused to kick anyone out to accommodate him. I would've paid to see that. ;-)

I stopped watching Maher a few month ago and my weekends are demonstrable more pleasant now.

It wasn't just Maher became boring and repetitive. He hasn't been funny in ten years. The only time his show was amusing was when another guest was funny.

I stopped watching a year ago. Give or take. I got bored.

Whether you find him very entertaining (he is hit or miss) he is closer to being right these days than any of us care to admit. He called all this crap in 2015 and he is absolutely right that the Left can't get out of their own way which is why despite having no agenda and literally screwing over half their electorate people in places like Iowa and Ohio are voting Red when 15 years ago they weren't.

The guy is an arrogant blowhard, but he gets Americans better than most Democrats do these days. The average American (outside of Twitter) doesn't care if Dave Chappelle made an off color joke and they don't want to hear about how tests need to be done away with to promote equality. (like the NCAA wants to do) Making everyone equally uneducated should not be the goal. People care about their bottom line and the fact is the Dems promise the world and then piss it all away when given the chance to implement it.

I mean for Chrissakes we fight like hell to get Biden in office and his own Party is nuking his agenda.

But the Dems nuking his agenda are the Centrists, not the radicals he gets his panties in a bunch over.

Maher doesn't want people coming for his money, and he is scared sh-tless of #metoo. He is the classic Comfortable Liberal who decides to sacrifice women and POC to get what he wants.

Well, those people are part of the coalition, so we have to be nice to them, but fuck all if we're going to feed their delusion that they're the "real" or the "serious" Democrats. They're just another bunch of people and they don't get special treatment. And considering that they are the ones letting the party and the country down right now, the last thing we need is a dunce like Maher patting himself on the back because he's his idea of a liberal. He can fucking get in line with the rest of us and stop sh-tting on other coalition members.

Like I said he is an arrogant blowhard. I watch mostly for guests not him. (when he lets them talk) Plus I remember when he wasn't as annoying so I guess I have a soft spot. Still better than most of the networks at least.

The sad thing is, when Trump refused to concede I literally said to my girlfriend "Maher is going to be even more insufferable now because he nailed it". Trump should hang just for that :^)
