Nice charts showing (1) how the Nazis were able to use McConnell's block to remake the courts and (2) how much we have repaired the damage*.

Here is a summary (numbers are D-R-vacant) of the partisan advantage in each district at the end of Obama, the end of Dump, and now.

* Not only have we not begun to repair the damage but we have dropped 13 more into the hole.

We have 17 vacancies. We should fill them all with judges to the left of William O. Douglas. Note this would only bring us back to where we were after the Dump coup attempt.

What we really need is the creation of about 40 additional justices on these circuits (and splitting the 9th finally).

I met these white women at my current job. Very Christian and not very educated. They are certainly far more representative of the average American white woman than my mom, sister, wife, or daughter. We are the outliers. For one thing, none of those categories overlap for me.

I met them in my old neighborhood in a Des Moines suburb. Very Stepfordish, which is one reason my wife didn't fit in with the rest of the "girls."

They were all college educated, upper middle class women with decent if not outright successful careers, and yet many deferred household finance to their husbands, believed in the healing powers of essential oils and chiropractors, and so forth.

Always confused me how they could be middle management at major corporations and yet be that docile at home.

Often being a manager isn't about leading, it's about submitting. I see it all the time at work. The people who get promoted in management aren't necessarily the ones who are doing the right or best things, it's about who is most following the lead of the supervisor.

I know, that seems like it should be part of the job to do what your boss says, but that's not what I'm saying. If the boss has a truly sh-t idea, the person who gets promoted is the one who does the best job executing that plan as opposed to pushing back and doing something net good.

They're not docile, they are hellions in their own way. Decent, church-going women with their mean, pinched, bitter, evil faces. They dominate their husbands with passive-aggressiveness, ruthless sexual manipulation, guilt, and just straight up hectoring.

They and their All American Boy conservative husbands deserve each other and the misery they put themselves through with their sick co-enabling. No wonder they all have drinking problems and mistresses.
