Scores and Highlights 09-10

Re: Scores and Highlights 09-10

This loss pretty much eliminates any chance at an NCAA birth, without winning the WCHA Tournament, as far as I am concerned.
I doubt that you're at that point yet. The schedule gives you a couple of breaks in that you play Bemidji St. and Minnesota while Tomcikova and Räty are absent. The Badgers do have to go to Columbus, and the Buckeyes have as much firepower as anybody in the league, although Zuzana may have succeeded in putting the whole team into a slump before she left town. If UW can get it together, it is very possible that they could win about 7 of their remaining games and put themselves right back into the thick of the PWR before the post season starts.

I sure hope your right.

Re: Scores and Highlights 09-10

OSU 5 UW 4

OSU scores with less than 5 to play and scores the go ahead with 9 seconds left to get the victory.

Really disheartening loss AGAIN!

Re: Scores and Highlights 09-10

Other WCHA action tonight...

Minnesota 4, Minnesota State 2 - The Gophers come back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits, score 3 times in the second, and hold on despite 6-on-3 and 6-on-4 attacks by the Mavericks late in the third. Sam Downey got the game-winner for Minnesota, and Alyssa Grogan stopped 22 of 24 shots for the win.

St. Cloud St. 3, Bemidji St. 2 - The Huskies scored three unanswered to come back from a 2-0 deficit for the win. Callie Dahl gets her first goal of the year with 6:56 left in the third period, and it proves to be the game-winner. Ashley Nixon stopped 20 of 22 shots for the win.

One additional note on Bemidji State -- despite remaining in a tie for 3rd in the WCHA, they're in trouble with Zuzana Tomcikova gone for the Olympics if Alana McElhinney doesn't get on track. With tonight's loss, McElhinney is now 0-4-1 in her 5 decisions so far this season.

Re: Scores and Highlights 09-10

With 6 ladies in the hospital with food poisoning in Detroit and down 2-0 in the third, Syracuse comes back to beat Wayne State and sweep the weekend series.Ladies started to get sick before game 1 and they were down 3 players by the second period with 3 more getting ill overnight.
Great effort by the ladies who were left standing that didn't order the spinach salad!!! :D
