Re: RPI Pick to Click 2016-17

So what's the details on this picking game you guys play?

See the first post in this thread. Basically you pick one person from each team for each game. Different players must be taken for the two games. Also you can't take the two highest scoring forwards and highest scoring defenseman (see post 81). Points are given for goals and assists (more for defensemen than forwards) and goalie quality starts and shutouts. At most one goalie can be selected. If I said anything wrong, Post 1 in this thread takes precedent. :D

I am sure that lugnut92 would be happy if you enter, even just for this week. You won't win for the year (unless you pick your goalie, no one else does, and he gets a hat trick, but even that won't be quite enough :D )

That all looks right to me. We'd love to have you join!

(A goalie shutout hat trick would still only be 35 points, which would undoubtedly be a record, but wouldn't compete for the end of year lead. You'd need that to happen like three times.)

Has a goalie ever scored with the other goalie in the net, even if just being the last to touch the puck, not necessarily directly off his stick?

Yes. I even saw it once in the RPI Holiday tourney in 1980/81 when Maine's Jim Tortorelli scored vs. Vasby (Sweden).

It also happened (though only technically) in the NHL a couple of seasons ago. Marty Brodeur's third career goal was on a delayed penalty call and Carolina's goalie was not yet off the ice when the puck went in, making Marty the only NHL goalie ever to score a non-empty net goal.

Re: RPI Pick to Click 2016-17

In the past, it's been in the same week as the previous Friday/Saturday, hence why I asked.

That would require me to look past Saturday on my calendar. I'll make sure to get this turned around quickly so we can include Tuesday with next weekend's games.

OK. I'd rather pick UNH's goalie than ASU anyway. :p (of course now that I say that, the UNH goalie will be a sieve and we'll get swept by ASU... )

Here's your "quick turnaround" for this week. Don't adjust that dial, scores for last week will be coming shortly. This week, RPI will head to Durham to hopefully win a game before hopping on a plane to sunny Arizona where they sure as hell better win two games. I kind of screwed this up, so if you happen not to make it in for Tuesday's game, I'll allow picks for the weekend's games through Friday as normal.

Picks must be in by 7:00 ET on TUESDAY.

You may NOT choose the following players for this game:
RPI: Evan Tironese, Riley Bourbonnais, and Jared Wilson
New Hampshire: Tyler Kelleher, Patrick Grasso, and Matias Cleland
Arizona State: Robbie Baillargeon, Tyler Busch, and Brinson Pasichnuk

Statistics and Rosters
RPI: Statistics | Roster
New Hampshire: Statistics | Roster (Beware D. Maller / C. Miller confusion)
Arizona State: Statistics | Roster (Beware B. / S. Pasichnuk, J. / L. Rowe confusion)
