I just saw, on eLynah of all places, that E. Stewart Jones was debarred. It happened two week ago. https://www.timesunion.com/news/arti...n-19581732.php I recall having read here that he was in trouble.

It was suggested also on eLynah that the penalty box could be named for him. ;)

He got in trouble when his firm comingled or otherwise mishandled client escrow monies....which my lawyer friends tell me is one of the cardinal sins in the legal world and one of the quickest ways to getting disbarred. The investigation started about 5 years ago after a client heck bounced. He never stole any money, no clients ever lost any money -- it was bad accounting practices. A sad ending to a storied legal career for a guy who has been extremely benevolent in the community.

It's one of the quickest ways, and still took 5 years. How long do the slow ways last?

That is indeed the name of the new firm, post E. Stewart.... certainly possible that they stay on as a sponsor.....if Sachi can keep them signed up.

Mr. Jones was at many RPI games. He played hockey for Albany Academy and, if I recall correctly, for Williams. I seem to recall I've spotted Jim Hacker at a game or two, but I don't know his hockey background.

Agree on all counts. I looked up the Appellate Division opinion and there isn't any detail describing exactly what happened because Mr. Jones admitted to the charges against him. Two of the 5 judges dissented because they believed that disbarment was not warranted.

An amazing life indeed. My father had the dubious distinction of making something 68 saves against that Chiarelli-led squad....he talked about their skill quite often !! LOL

That's pretty amazing because if you look at pictures or video of the goalies in those days their pads weren't much wider than their legs and they didn't wear much upper body padding (not to mention no masks), I don't know how they stopped anything. By contrast today's goalies look like they are wearing mattresses and sumo suits.
