RPI 2024 Off-Season: Was 2023 – 2024 Just a Bad Dream?

Haven't seen it at a hockey game in quite a while, but at tonight's football game the band showed that they remember what song to play when RPI scores five times before the other team scores once.

In honor of Kyley Toye, today is 21 September 2024. There are 15 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 6 October 2024 for the start of next season.

RB: Do you know of any rule or limitations on who can be invited to play an exhibition game? I know we have usually played Canadian teams in the past and a few DI teams, but what about a team that plays at the DIII level? it would seem to me that any competitive ice time against some competition would be beneficial before starting the regular season games.

My recollection is that the problem is that D-III teams can't play as early is D-I teams.

Football final was 51-7 as we took out the entire first string and much of the second string for the second half. WPI did not score until it was 51-0 and with only a little more than a minute to play. Schedule from here on out is far more demanding and the Liberty league schedule of course included Ithaca, Union and Hobart. All 3 will be very tough and especially this year since all of the top LL teams including us started with much tougher early OOC schedules.

Next weekend the football team travels to play #15 ranked Endicott which won today 58-0 and has already defeated Ithaca and St. Lawrence from the Liberty League. Guess it will not be as easy as the last 2 weeks for us:rolleyes: Will be interesting to see how the odds makers see this one but I cannot see how we can be anything but an underdog on the road for this one.

Not much doubt that Endicott will be a tough test for our guys next week.

I believe I heard Kurt say yesterday that RPI will be playing seven Liberty League games and two games against teams from the Empire Eight next season, leaving only one opening for another non-league game. They hope to be able to continue the Transit Trophy series against WPI, but it depends on whether WPI can fit it into their schedule.

The Liberty League currently has only seven members for football, but that will increase to eight next season, with the addition of Hilbert College.

Hilbert is currently 0-3 and has been outscored by a cumulative 176-6. We won't see them till next year, but they might be a little easier than Endicott.

In honor of Sabrina Beaudoin, today is 22 September 2024. There are 14 days (2 weeks) until RPI's next game.

Early odds for next week's football match up has Endicott as a 4.5 point favorite over us. Should be a game with turnovers and penalties playing an important part of the outcome.
