RPI 2024 Off-Season: Was 2023 – 2024 Just a Bad Dream?

Yes. The extra year is ending. The Covid rules said that 20-21 didn’t count toward the 4 years of eligibility. So freshmen from that year can be enrolled for a 5th year (4th year of eligibility) this season. The only remaining exceptions would be players that took a redshirt in a subsequent year. Those are rare in hockey.

I do seem to learn the worst words quickly in any new language. I believe that my knowledge of Hungarian is limited to such words and phrases. I think they have the absolute best curse words and phrases.

The team will live and die with the defense and the special teams - last year that was so obvious it was painful to watch. I am hopeful we will see a lot of change there (fingers crossed)

Last years team defense and special teams set the bar low enough to walk over.
I've got to believe that we will see a big improvement in both. The coaches have had a full off season to make the necessary adjustments.
I am always very hopeful before the season starts.

Many years ago we had one 4th of July while living in the Adirondacks for the summer where we got some snow. Enough to cover the mountain tops and about 1/2 inch covering the roof and some of the grass. That year we had two seasons up there - winter and almost winter.

Have connections. Living in Houghton MI, waiting for the fireworks on the 4th of July it started to snow on the crowd. We were all dressed in shorts, a few brought another top to cover. Not a lot of snow but it snowed. As they say in the Copper Country two season Winter and 3 months of bad sledding

Several years ago our women's team received a commitment from Sophie Helgeson, a defender rated 4.25 *'s by Neutral Zone. She decommitted and went to Wisconsin. Now, she is transferring to RPI for her senior season. Does anyone know a similar situation for any men's teams?
