Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

I did see a kid Saturday night wearing a Kent School Hockey hoodie with the #15 embroidered on it. He was there with his parents...I don't think he was a recruit, as he sat on the townie side and left the building right after the game.
That would be Kevin Perron ('93), a 5'10" 145lb Junior Forward from Saratoga Springs. I think your correct that he wasnt a recruit and was just taking in the game with his family.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

I would not believe that for a second.

Not to mention, what would be the benefit from not having them view these? Conflicting information? I would think at this age, they'd be able to handle that. Not to mention, wasn't it said that sometimes the players are given the reins for some of the play creativity?

I could understand if they didn't want the players posting here.

A Whig-Standard piece about Kingston's opening win vs. Trenton.
http://www.thewhig.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2481013

"...The most productive unit recently has been Kingston native Brock Higgs, Mike Arnold and Colt Kennedy.

Higgs, after an up-and-down regular season, was at his best yesterday -- finding open spots on the ice and creating chances for his linemates or himself, just like he did in last year's run to the national championship tournament."

Nice. Maybe he listened to a pep talk by SA last weekend. :D

I don't recall who else is interested in him, and I am too lazy to earch through the threads at the moment.

I'll stand corrected, but I think all we have heard publicly is RPI and Harvard...
Classic S-F reporting they mention " a long lineup" of schools and then mention two in the piece.

"...There's a fairly long lineup of National Collegiate Atheltice Association (NCAA) Division l teams very interested in having Ming play for their school.....

And he's got sky-high marks in Grade 12 at Char-Lan District High School in Williamstown - in the upper eighties....he's got those options. . . which can also be a big challenge for a youngster to deal with.

Sounds like Ming has it all under control, though.

"By May I'll (likely have) made a commitment to (an NCAA school) or Kitchener,'' Ming said ..."

"...If you're into reading the tea leaves, Ming in the past has talked about playing at NCAA school RPI near Albany being a dream of his. He visited the Harvard campus in the Cambridge section of Boston last year, and he's being looked at by many of the ECAC teams."

Are marks in the upper 80's really sky high, or is that more of indication of the grades that reporters in the Standard Freeholder think are outstanding?

Maybe they don't grade on the curve?
