Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

He wouldn't have been able to schedule such a visit until last weekend because we were still hopeful of a bye. I would think visits are usually scheduled further in advance, but then again I don't know that for sure.

Babo, any input to that?

yes, Ralphy...the visit thing is a living organism...the coaches would prefer the normal planning (at least 2 weeks out to get the best airfares, if applicable...) but there is the ability to turn on a dime...SA-y & co. can literally secure a visit and have the player there the next day (but me thinks the skids would have already been greased by Monty & Vinesy...I put the 'y' at the end of everyone's name so you don't think I'm harassing you :D )

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

It looked like Brock Higgs was there tonight with the team.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

Today's Standard Freehold article http://www.standard-freeholder.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2479692. Nothing much except at the end it mentions that both D-I and D-III schools have shown interest in Ouellette.

Also mentioned that Eric Ming was close in the voting for top rookie:

"...MacInnis also thought that Cornwall's Eric Ming came close to winning the top rookie award, which went to Pembroke's Matthew Peca.

"Eric had to be right there (when the votes were tabulated),'' MacInnis said."

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

There are still three more CJHL games to be played later today or tomorrow.

We can safely say that unless someone goes on a rampage (e.g., 17 goals by the nearest player whose season isn't over) that Jacob Laliberté led the CJHL in goals, PPGs, and GWGs and is tied for the lead in SHGs. He is third in points and second in points-per-game. http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/scoringleaders.html?leagueid=349&seasonid=4401

He also led the CJHL in 3-stars points. http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/starleaders.html?leagueid=349&seasonid=4401

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

The women's recruit, Toni Sanders, seems like quite a score on the boys HS team. I recall Cindy Acropolis playing here on the Brick HS boys team and being quite a scorer. She was able to translate that into considerable scoring for RPI. Hope that happens again. :)

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

On Saturday, the Cornwall Colts defeated the Nepean Raiders 9-6. Jacob Laliberté had a goal, an assist, and an interference penalty. Guy Leboeuf had a goal and an assist. This ends Pembroke's regular season. http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=1048305

Laliberté's line is now 50-62-49-110-34.
Leboeuf's line is now 62-10-19-29-66.

Too bad it was an interference penalty and not a fight. :D :p

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

I saw Higgs at the game last night..he was with another unknown kid. I was tight on time, so I only caught them as they headed into the locker room after warmups. I will attempt to look at some rosters to see if I recognize him.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

Maybe I should amend my post to say I think I saw Higgs...dark hair black hoodie and a skull cap with Canadien-esque logo.... The other kid who was with him had a spear-shaped Mohawk...I don't think it was any of our guys -- as non-dressing players wear suits & ties at home.

Higgs certainly could have been in Troy on Friday and back home for today's game.
