Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

On Thursday, the Cornwall Colts defeated the Gloucester Rangers 6-4. Jacob Laliberté had a hat trick and two assists. He was named #1 star. :) Guy Leboeuf scored a goal :) and had a tripping peanlty. http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=1048301

Laliberté's line is now 49-61-47-108-32.
Leboeuf's line is now 61-9-18-27-66.

Involved in 5/6ths of the offense-now that's more like it!

Advance piece re: Brock Higgs' upcoming series pitting the Kingston Vees against the Trenton Hawks. Mentions the Vees as the "flagship franchise" of the OJAHL. http://www.thewhig.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2478073

Game 1: Sunday, 2:30 p.m. @ Kingston
Game 2: Wednesday - @ Trenton
Game 3: Thursday - @ Kingston
Game 4: Friday -@ Trenton

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

Appert hosts his first playoff series at HFH...decent odds a recruit or two might be in town.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

With the regular season drawing to a close, JL is leading the CJHL in goals, PPGs, and GWGs. He is tied for the lead in SHGs. He is third in points and second in points-per-game. http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/scoringleaders.html?leagueid=349&seasonid=4401

He has an insurmountable lead in 3-stars points. http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/starleaders.html?leagueid=349&seasonid=4401

Only one thing to say-

He wouldn't have been able to schedule such a visit until last weekend because we were still hopeful of a bye. I would think visits are usually scheduled further in advance, but then again I don't know that for sure.

Babo, any input to that?

All true, and it is late in the year. But there are plenty of kids who are living 3-4 hours away by car.

He has one more game. He still can make it to second in points.

He also can rest the points-per-game lead from Cross by scoring 4 points while Cross gets 0, 5 while Cross gets 1, 6 while Cross gets either 2 or 3, 7 while Cross gets 4, 8 while Cross gets 5, ...

Both teams have one game left. Cross plays tonight, so JL will know what he needs for Saturday.

I hope that I got the correct.

What makes it all that more remarkable-every team knows that he is involved in 50-60% of the scoring so they must be focusing on him-and he still scores. I hope this translates well for us next year. :)

Coach's Corner on Vees Blog. I'm sorry to report that they have added advertisements to the segment:mad: ....Harbison looks a bit like a rooster. :p

Mention of Vees surprising their opponent with physicality inlcuding a "heavy hit" by Curadi at about 2:25 min. mark. :D :D "..."teams won't beat us in the alley..." :p

Harbison very pleased with D play...noting the importance of being able to grind opponents down... :p

With him added to Polacek, Pirri, and Malchuk at center, the opponents will not be able to concentrate on one or even two lines. It has to benefit everyone.
