Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

Why don't you start a new thread on discussing Heisnberg's list if you need to discuss this further. This has diverged from a dsicussion of RPI recruits and potential recruits.

I dropped it with my opinion. He is the one who decided to disect it and add nothing. It is part of the recruiting chat if people feel a recruit is high up on a list based upon play, peformance etc. My opinion is that is not what CH tries to accomplish. If someone else has an opinion of why that is wrong, it adds flavor and value. To keep saying, you are wrong, tou are dense and add zero content is a waste of energy.

And you're not discussing RPI recruits. Start your own thread or GTFO.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

and your post is??

My post is that this is a discussion about RPI recruits not some guys list of potential recruits for every school. So if you would kindly add to this discussion about RPI that would be helpful if not please take the advice of everyone and start your own thread about the subject you wish to debate endlessly and borderline childlike. Thanks

Apologies if this has been mentioned before, I read on USHR that former RPI AC Shawn Kurulak is now coaching the Colorado Thunderbirds Midget AAA team. One of his players Dan Doremus just committed to Denver a few days ago, his older brother Tyler is a sophomore on the Skidmore hockey team.

So much for "...pursuing opportunities away from hockey" which I think is how the RPI press release read. :p Here's hoping Shawn steer a few worthy players toward RPI. :D

If he was benched for a giveaway, it would have been for a game or two at most.
You don't punish your top scoring defenseman for the rest of the year for a giveaway.
JMO

Of course level-headed, sane people don't act this way...I guess I'd feel a lot better if there had been a hint of competent sports reporting down the stretch for O'ville. When one of your top blueliners is missing from the lineup, for almost a month, I for one would've seen that as newworthy..but that's just me.:p

Here's hoping Nick is OK and getting ready for his offseason regiment in advance of Appert Bootcamp this August. :D

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

...As far as ability/performance, Laliberté and Cross are both very good players. They were traded for each other straight-up. Cross has better #'s and was chosen Most Outstanding Player. For Laliberté to be "ranked" far ahead of Cross is a mystery....

That's all I was saying when this dang brushfire broke out...:p

S-F article re: the Colts' netminder Carr being named CJHL goalie of the year...he was informed of this at practice by JL and Ouilette. It also makes note of Damian Cross as Outstanding Player, as well as former H recruit Andrew Calof being named CJHL Scholastic Player of the year...apparently still not good enough to be admitted by Harvard...I bet Teddy is still spitting nails about that one. :D

Stop fan-ning the flames. :p

FYP. :p Also, you can take the asterisk off of the Kingston series start date...

"...The Kingston Kimco Voyageurs will open their Ontario Junior A Hockey League semifinal against the Trenton Golden Hawks on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Invista Centre."

Kingston Kimco Voyageurs vs. Trenton Golden Hawks - OJAHL semifinal

Game 2: Wednesday, at Trenton, 7:30 p.m.
Game 3: March 11, at Kingston, 7:30 p.m.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

We're not arguing about when Quinn last played. We're arguing about whether he is injured. To me, when a team's top-scoring defenseman doesn't play for over a month (with no exceptions) it looks like injury...

I forgot about this article from Orangeville detailing the Crushers' quick exit from the playoffs... it mentions: "...Entering the series on Feb. 10 missing several key contributors due to injuries or suspension..."

I seem to recall at the time lamenting the glaring lack of detail....I'm not sure how you go through the trouble of writing a story, then tossing that nugget out there without detailing exactly who was injured and who was suspended.

Seems to me the topic of the teams health and number of available bodies should have been written prior to the series. Oh well. We probably won't know what the heck happened until Mr. Quinn arrives in Troy.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

Wicked-I would just think that if it were a suspension we would have seen some sort of announcement-an injury just may not have been disclosed. But you are right, we may never know until he arrives in Troy.

I'm nitpicking I know... Ralph gets hung up on numbers, I get hung up on poorly written articles. :p The fact that the guy included the "s" word in the piece and then didn't feel the need to elaborate is pathetic...uggh. We're witnessing the slow death of journalism. :p OK, I'll leave it alone now.
It's a good thing there's a game tomorrow!

But nothing at all about Nick Quinn in the article.

There are other possibilities besides those two. Quinn could have walked away from the team.
