Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

The sad thing is, once we stop trying to buy the tournament by bringing in mickey mouse teams and actually start bringing in the big guns, we'll actually win it.

Big guns are timid about traveling to NC barns...they lose revenue and they run the ever-present risk of an embarrassing loss. That's said, it wouldn't surprise me if Seth coaxed his buddy Rico into town for a few games.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

That would be Kevin Perron ('93), a 5'10" 145lb Junior Forward from Saratoga Springs. I think your correct that he wasnt a recruit and was just taking in the game with his family.

I believe you are correct. I'm pretty sure he and his dad were in line buying tickets at the box office when I arrived. Even on unofficial recruiting visits the school is allowed to provide complimentary tickets.

Good. Let's forget about him. :)

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

Article in the Standard Freeholder about JL http://www.standard-freeholder.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2484009.

The irony of it all is that Laliberte almost didn't end up in a Colts uniform this season. The sniper has secured a scholarship to NCAA Division I school Rensselaer (RPI) in Troy, N.Y., but he decided to hold off on heading south this season in order to gain a little more seasoning and experience in Cornwall.

Though he still has one more season of junior eligibility, Laliberte is planning to head to RPI next year, and that means it's his final chance to win a CJHL ring. He likes his team's chances, but the Colts captain said they'll have to take it one shift and one game at a time, starting with Game 1 against Nepean on Thursday night (7:30 p.m. at the civic complex).

The beer is in the cooler. :)

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

Just the thought of having Laliberté on the powerplay with Chase, Brandon and Jerry next year is enough to get me pumped about next season. I dont see why the PP cant get up over 20% with these guys on the ice together. :D :D

It should get above 20%. It was at that level for much of this year but decreased.

JL also kills penalties. It will be good to get more of that load off Chase and Jerry.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

We already know that you're just an Eeyore, Ralph. You said the same things about Pirri and D'Amigo. :D

Not to this degree. You were the one who pointed out that Pirri and D'Amigo reiterated that they were going to attend RPI while JL has not. All we are getting here is what the Standard Freeholder wrote, not a quote from JL.

He has been kinda tight lipped about the whole situation, so an actual quote from him would be nice to see eventually. I am less concerned about him not showing up now since we got Leboeuf and if 1timer is right that he is taking his SAT's this month, I think that is a really good sign.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

On Tuesday, the Burlington Cougars lost to the Newmarket Hurricanes 3-1. Patrick Koudys had no points or penalties. Burlington trails in the best-of-seven playoff series 3-0. http://cchl.stats.pointstreak.com/boxscore.html?gameid=12238454

Koudys's playoff line is now 11-0-1-1-16.
His total is 61-5-29-34-58.
Thats surprising, I was expecting Burlington make a deeper playoff run. Down 3-0 its gonna be really tough coming back from that. Just by glancing at the boxscores it appears there not getting the scoring from there top players (Jooris and Carey) in this series.

What do you expect from Union and SLU recruits? ;)
