Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

He has been kinda tight lipped about the whole situation, so an actual quote from him would be nice to see eventually. I am less concerned about him not showing up now since we got Leboeuf and if 1timer is right that he is taking his SAT's this month, I think that is a really good sign.

I agree that taking SATs is a good sign. Someone mentioned that he might be going to the University of Ottawa. They apparently require SATs also.

I believe Ouellette was rumored to be headed there and thought JL might go along with him. Now that Ouellette is getting some attention from D1 schools things might change.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Article in the Standard Freeholder about JL http://www.standard-freeholder.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2484009.

The beer is in the cooler. :)

I'm hoping this is just another example of really bad reporting - the reporter had a quote from JL about going to RPI (which is why he talks about his last playoff series, etc. despite having more junior eligibility) and instead "paraphrased", leading to a not-at-all clear statement.

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

This is from last month http://www.albertalocalnews.com/red.../Grizzlys_roll_into_post_season_85373972.html
... and Matt Tinordi, who excelled offensively in his second AJHL season with 23 goals and 45 points.

“He (Tinordi) came from being a .3 points per game player to a .8 this season. He’s made leaps and strides as far as his improvement from one season to the next,” said Hasselberg. “It’s been tremendous.”

Re: RPI 2010 Recruiting III: Monty's Quest for the Holy Grail

He is going to have lots of chances for that in the ECAC with the current state of officiating.

I have actually never heard of that penalty before. Is that a tangent on unsportsmanlike conduct, possibly dropping a couple F-bombs on the official? Inadvertently hitting the official in a tussle?

There seem to be a lot of penalties in juniors that are absent from the NCAA and NHL. My guess that he was disagreeing with the refs on the penalty and pushed one of them or cursed, as you wrote. There shouldn't have been a tussle associated with a tripping penalty. Bailen was probably ****ed because he was called for a penalty 13 seconds after the start of another one.

He may turn out to be a real upside surprise for us next year. :)

I hope that at least one of the taller forwards (Smith, Tinordi, Burgdoerfer) is good enough to play regularly. We need some size. (I've said that before. :D )

You know that has been my biggest wish every year. I would love us to have some sort of force in front of the net and ask for it every year.:)

I think it has to be just language-any touch of the ref even inadvertant usually leads to a disqualification penalty. But I am not sure if that is the NCAA rule.
