These things always seem to go slowly, and the fact that Graham is Canadian probably slows it up even more.
My guess would be waiting for the work visa, remember how long it took for Vines to get here and I believe it was stated at the time that visa's take some time since 9/11

Writing. As in, the section I would have completely pwned if I'd been able to take it. **** SAT.

It's time to rally around one of our own - WaP makes a special plea for help for Yale's Mandi Schwartz, including a pair of videos about Mandi and her condition.

Please, if you haven't seen the story on the front page of USCHO yet, drop by Without a Peer and see what you can do to help.

RC, nice work. I just joined her page on FB. I am going to send to a buddy in the Military (Alum of RPI) whose wife is pregnant.

Today is 5 June 2010. There are 119 days (17 weeks) until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 2 October for the start of next season.

RC:I have sometimes thought that you can be a bit over the top with your sarcasm-but this post makes up for everything and anything you have ever said to anyone. I am proud to have you posting on the same thread. Aside from having an extensive knowledge of college hockey, you have a heart and it shows. Great piece of work.:)

I'd like to second the thoughts of the Dr. - well done RC.

My nephew has just passed the 6 month mark after his transplant. He is lucky (if such a term can be used in his case) because his brother is a perfect match. Amazing stuff that the docs can do if a donor is found. I'm going to forward this along to one of my hockey teammates who is from the Ukraine.

I can't believe that no one has a report on how JL thought he did on SATs.

I think it is time to lay off JL and let him figure out what he wants to do in his life. If he shows up one day-awesome! If he decides a different route-good luck to him. Give this kid a break and just let it go already.

Getting away from the hockey for a moment -

I note that RPI's football schedule, as posted on rpiathletics.com, indicates that the team will play Union on October 30 in the "Dutchmen Shoes" game.

I don't understand why people in general and RPI people in particular have so much trouble with that name.

The name engraved on the trophy is "The Dutchman's Shoes." It's not the Dutchmen Shoes, nor is it the Dutchman Shoes, another name that I've seen in print from time to time.

When you think about it, this makes sense. A shoe is not a Dutchman. Two shoes are not a Dutchman. Neither are two shoes Dutchmen.

Two shoes, however, can belong to a single Dutchman, so it is correct and proper to call them the Dutchman's Shoes.

At least they didn't make the mistake of calling them the Dutchmen's Shoes, as if our rivals from Schenectady had some kind of legitimate claim to ownership.

Union and RPI playing football and hockey on the same day. Hockey in LP, Football in Schenectady.

Way to go, scheduling people...

That's also going to be a difficult choice to make. Travel to the place of the Miracle, or to the stinkhole down the road. Hmmm...

For some of us, the choice is easy. Too bad WRPI doesn't reach all the way up there, only gets to about Pottersville.
