We're still in triple digits? The suspense is building.;)

Well, if we changed the acceleration of gravity from 32 ft/sec^2 to about .00045 ft/day^2 then a puck would take about 116 days to drop 3 ft. (That should earn at least a facepalm. ;) )

Brut is listed as a blueliner. Interesting. If he really is a forward (as I expect), all of the alternates are forwards. Not that that's a problem. Just stating facts.

I read the WaP post on facing us in October, and I'm curious as to your insight that Clay Witt would be drafted by Los Angeles. Is that just a speculated guess or some solid information that I missed out on?

He's going to be drafted "in" Los Angeles, not "by". That's where the 2010 NHL draft will be held. He is ranked 17th by the CSS for North American goalies, and his stock is on the rise, so I would not be surprised to see him drafted.

Wow, I'm an idiot, sorry. It was a good write-up by the way, whether our defensive corp can step up will be our biggest issue with only 3 upperclassmen, though we have some promising recruits. I'm definitely looking forward to playing RPI.

Raise your hand if you're surprised.

(Raising hand)

With all due respect to Jerry D'Amigo, how long has it been since RPI had an assistant captain who was a sophomore?

I'll wait for Ralph to step up on this one, I know he'll know the answer.

That said, three seniors and a sophomore isn't a bad way to do it. It makes Jerry the responsible one out there for the host of youth we'll have running around on the ice.

Good choices for Captain and Assistants. Do we now refer to JFK and Jerry as El Presidente and Captain America? Just kidding. I like adding Chase in the mix because I feel he has earned this right in his first 3 seasons. Im sure this has been posted somewhere before or do we even know how the team chooses captains or is it up to the coaching staff?

With all due respect-if they are going to keep him as forward (which I believe they are) they should list him as forward or referred to him as F/D. It doesn't seem right to give him credit for the highest scoring D when he played forward half the year-just out of respect to those actually playing D. I am assuming it was a tough spot for him to move from D to F but it seems like he will stay at F so just state it the way it is. JMO

The team votes on it I believe.

Agree-- but we all know the coaches do what they want. Kudos to all that Jerry has accomplished this year-amazing!-I just hope coach A (which I am assuming is the one that made this decision) is awarding the A for the right reason in this case.

Today is 9 June 2010. There are 115 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 2 October for the start of next season.

Actually, I don't know. I think that Denis Poissant was the last cocaptain as a soph, but someone might have worn an A since then.

seems a bit sloppy on the press release with regard to Bryan. Is there a chance that Bryan might be going back to D because of plethora of forwards? I hope not... at the end of the year I thought he was one of the scrappers up front that help with production. I think that will be one of the issues of the upcoming season - do we have guys willing to go to the net. Bryan did so and I hope he stays at forward. have total faith in SA to figure out.

Re: RPI 2010 Off-Season III -- How we learned to stop worrying and love the Class of '14

For some of us, the choice is easy. Too bad WRPI doesn't reach all the way up there, only gets to about Pottersville.

This scheduling conflict was mentioned here a few weeks ago. I'm surprised that few peoplle seemed to care. I think the attendance for a 4 pm non-leaguer in Placid was going to be iffy, but with the football game in Troy on the same day I fear the turnout for hockey will be dismal. I was looking forward to a day and a night in Placid watching hockey and enjoying the Cottage, but that won't happen now.

I still would like them to consider movingthe football game to friday night so as to avoid the conflict, but I don't think that will happen.
