As much as it pains me to think of what yet another year of "will he or won't he" would be like, I admit there is a shot that JL makes it to Troy. Though if I were SA I'd tell him to get his fanny to Dubuque...but that's just me. Another year in Cornwall wil do nothing for his maturation --on the ice or off.
Totally Agree

Today is 3 June 2010. There are 121 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 2 October for the start of next season.

FWIW, the folks at Hockey's Future rank him as Columbus's number 3 goalie prospect http://www.hockeysfuture.com/teams/columbus_blue_jackets.

I think Columbus is merely worried about the times when, probably in their mind (I'm guessing they don't get to see much tape as aside from our home games, they'd actually have to scout), "York has an off-game" (e.g. 2008-09 at Miami, Michigan State this past year, maybe also a couple of the Union games; of course how many were him and how many were skater setup?), but if the coaches can help York to bring out that A game consistently (e.g. Michigan, Game 1 Cornell in the playoffs last year, there were plenty of others), Columbus won't need to suffer through the permanent Syracuse fixtures. I completely realize that you can't stop them all, and that the bodies in front of the goaltender (on BOTH teams) have a lot to do with effectiveness as well. I do agree with GLM in that given time, he'll be starting between the pipes in Columbus.

The writers for Hockey's Future are fans evaluating the teams' prospects. I don't think that they have any actual connection to the teams. It's no difference to when one of us writes something. The Columbus listings at HF thus don't necessarily reflect Columbus's thoughts, although they might by chance.

BTW, I entered all of the returning players into the RPI Directory to see if any have left. None have, at least not yet.

Interestingly, York is the only one who isn't listed with his proper class. He is considered a sophomore. This has happened before and was of no importance. According to a current/recent student (I don't remember who), it most likely just means that he has not taken a course that he needed to be a junior.

Maybe nobody will notice and we can keep him for a 5th year?;)

That might have just as much to do with his age than anything else...
As we all know, one need look no further than the Stanley Cup finals to realize that the only certainty in goaltending is the uncertainty of it... York certainly has the ability to play at the next level.... time will tell. I for one think that Allen will be with us through his senior year.

Is it too early to start speculating as to what stud goaltenders Seth is pursuing? :D

If this keeps up, I think Big Dana is going to have to order more colored practice jerseys for all of the forwards...practice is going to look like an explosion of fruit stripe gum. :D

I know he visited RPI at some point last season, has interest from a handful of other top programs as well.

Do you know if he was invited, or if he just showed up on his own?
I know that there are rules regarding the number of invitations you can make to a recruit, but if he is in the area and just shows up to watch a game, there are no rules about that.

Im assuming he visited the same time his teammate Boo Nieves did. Nieves committed to Michigan and im pretty sure he said he picked Michigan over RPI and one other school. Whether or not it was an official or unofficial visit, im not sure.

This was on collegehockey247 a few months ago regarding Izyk:
"I've talked to a few schools, visited RPI and New Hampshire and Michigan, but I'd still really like to see Denver and Miami too,"
