I think the Canisius series changed my mind on this. Typically I would agree with you, but Ruby's numbers are significantly better than they have been over the last two years. http://www.uscho.com/stats/player/mid,19947/jordan-ruby/ The sample size is small at this point, but large enough to acknowledge this trend in the right direction. I also haven't seen him self implode like in years past after things go south. In fact, it seemed to me (only via the radio broadcast) that he really came up big to allow the team a chance to salvage a point on Friday.
I am really looking forward to seeing him play again this weekend. Yes, his style of play nearly sends me into cardiac arrest with each save, but I have noticed a difference this year.

I think that taking that attitude with Ruby is just setting yourself up for disappointment. It's not his first shutout..and it's not the first time he's played well in back to back games. RIT outplayed Canisius badly on Saturday...hence why they only had a pathetic 19 shots. The night before he was not exactly spectacular. He's such a head case that as soon as he does give up that first soft goal he withers and then it's all down hill.
