Re: >>>>>RIT TIGERS... The Polisseum, just like the Ritter only more of us!<<<<<

Anyone use the Ivy League Network to watch the games? I'm considering just getting this month to watch tonight's game and then just get the other games this month as a bonus. Wondering how good the quality is though, and whether there is announcers and an actual broadcast or just video. Any info helps thanks.

You can buy a day pass for $10 further down the page under the school selection thing. I just picked Yale and registered with my RIT email and it worked!

Guy in the Yale thread was very complimentary of Rotolo's skills...so there's that.

It sounded like Rotolo played well. Still can't score.

Tigers pick up another recruit for next year in Alex Roberts, a 6'3", 205 lb, 20yr old, forward from the AJHL Brooks Bandits. He's a teamate with Mark Logan, another 2015-16 recruit. Roberts is 4th in scoring in the AJHL and 2nd on the Bandits (29gm-17g-18a-35pts-68pm).

This brings to 7 the number of forwards on the books for next year. Should be seeing a goalie and maybe a defender or two in the coming months.

It seems if the top line doesn't score, RIT doesn't score. Hopefully, getting Schuler back will be a help, especially as he gets into better game shape. From what I hard, he seemed to have a solid first game.

From Coach's comments after the game, it seems like the other lines are too tentative when it comes to scoring chances.

4 shots on goal in the first period, I would think he's right!

Well worth $40 for the year. Includes a multitude of Ivy sports
Most, if not all, in HD
However, for hockey, you might want to wait until RIT replaces Q Pac in the ECAC .
However HC might beat you to it : )

If QPac leaves, I don't think RIT will be the first choice to get the ECAC spot because of geography.

I would ragequit if RIT gets beat out by another AHA team to the ECAC.

Exactly - too far west w/ travel partner conundrum

On the other hand, ECAC would benefit from exposure provided by a larger city - beyond Clinton, Canton, Potsdam, Hanover.
Plus existing ties w/ the Liberty teams would make for a much better fit than Q Pac - a former commuter school
(Not to denigrate Mechanics Institute's origins in downtown Rochester)

Holy Cross was/is the logical choice assuming a D1 women's program

All idle speculation

And where exactly would Quinnipiac hypothetically go?

Hockey East. To be honest we need a major conference realignment for us to get in the ECAC. Either the Ivy or the Patriot League would have to form in order for us to get in but even then a couple AHA schools would be coming along with us.

So we should join the B1G? I like it.

Isn't Hockey East full? I can't see any conference going to 13 teams.

In the Northeast, the biggest player that could shake things up would be Syracuse - who I think would likely be accepted into Hockey East. Whether anyone would leave the conference is hard to say but I don't think anyone would leave voluntarily.

Not so original an idea: - Ivies go it alone bringing back Penn and adding Columbia.
RIT and Syracuse advocate for an Empire State League along w/ 2 Buffalo schools, Colgate and the 4 Liberties currently in the ECAC
(Highly unlikely to be supported by the latter 5 who LOVE the existing Ivy connection - as would RIT!)

Q Pac to figure out their own destiny

Somewhere between slim and none?

Would love to see RIT in the above scenario but agree that it would be unlikely.

I think RIT will need to move to athletic scholarships somewhere down the road if they want to consider an upgrade to another league. I've seen marked improvements among many of the AHA teams who benefit from athletic scholarships. Those who don't have athletic scholarships, if they haven't already noticed, will soon find themselves at a disadvantage. I don't know all the legal mumbo jumbo behind it, but at some point it will need to happen if RIT wants to remain a force in the AHA or any other league they may find themselves in down the road. This is just my opinion, I'm sure others will bring up Union and the Ivies, however if you think about it, do you want to continue down the road we are on, and how that path effects attendance in our new rink, or do you want to see an RIT team with the type of talent they played against at the last two Brick City's (Michigan and Boston College)?

We'd have to leave the Liberty League. I just don't see a feasible D-II all-sports league option for us. I don't think we need to be a team where we only get a year or two out of half our recruits. A Union-type team would be fine.
