>> RIT Tigers Offseason 2012: Reloading and working on the 'Polisseum' <<

Saracino, Hartley, and Garbowski have been named Captains for this upcoming year. I like Garbo being picked, he thoroughly impressed me last year.

Love it, absolutely love it. Garbowsky was the hardest worker on the team last year and very deserving of this. Just makes me wish my season warn Garbowsky jersey had a "C" on it :(

Was just looking at the roster and noticed that it now says only 3 Senior's this year instead of 4 (Potts is now listed as a junior). Potts either got a year of eligibility back or there is a mistake...

The AHL still has a full season...

Which is probably why he is there. He could use the work for his offensive game.

Yes. I'm wondering if Tanev would have started the season in Vancouver if there was no threat of a lockout this year. I think it's a good sign that they want to keep Tanev playing and developing despite uncertainty in the NHL season.

There is no question. Tanev is 4th, maaaybe 5th on the Canucks depth chart. He was a starter up in the big show for sure. He has a 2-way contract, so they can send him to the AHL during the lockout with no penalty.

I believe that because he is still on a two-way contract, the current lockout "rules" permit him to play In the AHL. If he was on a one-way NHL he'd be locked out.

From what I was told, it is not something major like a ligament and recovery should be quick.

Not nice seeing the injury trend keep up from last year, especially considering my fav baseball team is the Cardinals I really feel like I have an injury curse latley. Be nice if he ready to go in Novemeber, 1st week against AIC would be nice warm up. If not then hope he back by Nov 9th vs. Mercyhurst. The games he is going to miss doesn't bother me (all though our OOC worry people will be crushed) as much as how much will this set him back this year. Mike really the guy I think Wayne has to put the saddle on this year. If he is near the 20 goals mark I think RIT will be right where they want to be, if not it could get dicey...

From #RIT men's hockey: Though time slot was reserved, it appears Mike Colavecchia, '11-12 top scorer, will avoid knee surgery for now.

Problem solved, no surgery!

I'm sure Wilson and the training staff know what they're doing. But I'd rather lose Mike for the first couple of months than have him out with a knee injury in the 2nd half of the season.

I's sure Coach will be careful with Colavecchia. I would actually be surprised if he plays back to back games on a weekend during October and maybe even November. He certainly should not be playing the exhibition unless he is 100%.

Re: >> RIT Tigers Offseason 2012: Reloading and working on the 'Polisseum' <<

This is complete speculation, but given the time that he was going to need for recovery it sounds likely that it was just small clean up stuff they do around the knee to help reduce minor damage and pain. Given the few days that went by I am guessing that Mike was seeing specialist who was determining if they could manage it through therapy and possible medication. They also probably determined that the probability of him injuring it some more is at or very close to zero. If he had any type of knee surgery he probably could have come back in November, but really would not be a 100% the entire season. So if possible to go the season then have surgery would be ideal.

Again this is all “slightly” educated guessing here. Surprise this much info leaked out, worry someone will go after Mike’s knees now…

Someone on a team near the Buffalo area, I would guess.

Random question for anyone who has used the America One streaming service before. Do you know if it's possible to be logged onto the same account in more than one location? I'm sure it's against their terms of service, but I was considering going in on a season pass with some people.
