>> RIT Tigers Offseason 2012: Reloading and working on the 'Polisseum' <<

I just hope that last year's rash of injuries doesn't repeat itself. I think if the Tigers stay healthy, they will be tough to beat again, especially once they hit conference action.

So is anyone planning on purchasing the B2 season pass? I did last year and, although I'm happy I got to watch the Tigers, I was far from satisfied with what I got. The audio quality was awful for home games (the volume was low, or off timed), the streaming interface never fit properly on my tv, and the pass didn't include the homecoming or playoff games! I don't think there are any other viable options though, unless someone sets up a video stream again.

The league should find another video supplier. Not only is the quality poor, but we have found them to be difficult to work with and uninterested in fixing issues. There are also supposed to be both home and visitor connections available everywhere and we've only had them at Army, Air Force and Niagara.

FASTHockey has a vastly superior product.

I wonder what the details of AHA's contract with B2 (America ONE) is?

Do other broadcasters feel the same way?

I know I've had issues with B2 in the past and had to fight for a refund of a game I paid for but was never broadcast due to technical difficulties.

Maybe there's someone at AHA we could petition to consider making a change to FASTHockey (or some other service) after the B2 contract ends. Perhaps David Rourke? He's the Director of Media Relations for the AHA: http://atlantichockeyonline.com/atladmin

I know it is not a great product. But it's what some of us are stuck with. Even so, does anyone know if this is supposed to work at all with mobile devices?

Re: >> RIT Tigers Offseason 2012: Reloading and working on the 'Polisseum' <<

Lately, there seems to be as much RIT talk in the Bentley thread as there is about them, so we might as well bring this thread back.

I know everyone is concerned about how the goalies will fare, but where I have more concern is about the defensemen. I think they will be as important, if not more, to the success of the team. Seracino's health will be something to watch. Also, someone will need to step up from the underclassmen. I like Raibl to have a breakout season.

I think Goaltending will be just fine, there a bunch of talent back there and Wilson has a good track record of finding the best guy. I think the returning defensemen and forwards will be just fine too. The X Factor I think is the incoming freshman class. I think RIT needs ONE freshman to break out like Burt and Brenner did their freshman year. Be nice to get a 20 goal scorer guy again, or two 15 goal guys…

Re: >> RIT Tigers Offseason 2012: Reloading and working on the 'Polisseum' <<

Happen to catch these numbers today and this trend surprised me and would like to see it reversed next year. RIT outscored their opponents 8/8 (Overal/Conference) goals in the first period. Second was same to better in conference 8/12. However, in the third it got ugly -6/even. There a similar correlation in shots on goal dropping off in the third. Ironically though Fair much better, 3-0, in OT, go figure…

Roster appears to be live: http://www.ritathletics.com/roster.aspx?path=mhock, Going to be amusing seeing the biggest player in the #3 jersey instead of the littlest.

Nice little piece of Zander's bio:
tallied 20 points on six goals and 14 assists in 59 games … all six goals came on the power-play

It would be nice to see the power play come to life this season.

I'm not that worried about offense, with Garbowsky/McCowan into their sophomore years, a healthy Potts, and of course Colevecchia. It's the defense that I'm interested in, and the freshmen class looks pretty good. Zander is also 6'2.

But 225 lbs, although not tallest, physically the biggest.

He sounds like a beast. I'm pretty excited.

I'm going to go with mistake right now. But not sure. His twitter still says he plays for RIT and he's still active on it.

Thompson is suspended for a year, according to a player I know. I am not going to divulge why, or who but it will probably come out.

I also think that Thompson (#28) could have a break-out year; he put more shots on goal at the end of the season and I think he works hard.

Well... there goes that :(

Random thought: 50/50 split between US and Canadian players on this years roster.

Re: >> RIT Tigers Offseason 2012: Reloading and working on the 'Polisseum' <<

Random question that just popped in my head: what happened to getting solid hockey players from the great province of QC? Seems strange that the QC trail was ended with such a fantastic player as player Simon Lambert was... Is this something related to the move to D1 where the bigger power schools with scholarships get first dibs on QC players and therefore Wilson et al. go check out the other provinces? or am I missing something else here?

Could it have anything to do with assuring that aid isn't preferentially doled out to international students (or whatever that problem was that some D3 schools got in trouble for recently)?

Or maybe just a coincidence?

I've got nothing...
