I'd say no unless Rotolo screws up on Friday. He was pretty competent last weekend and even against Clarkson and SLU (as much as possible with the D we had).
Normally I'd agree but the fact that Wilson said it leads me to believe he's planning on it. I would guess Short tonight on the road and then Rotolo at home in Rochester. Gotta play the home town kid for a (maybe) sold out barn!
Tomorrow night's game is officially sold out!!!
Gotta play the kid who's most likely to stop more pucks.![]()
Also have to nurture a backup who may have to step in if your #1 goes down late in the year to a freak practice injury.
Just sure would be nice to let him get experience and win games. The fact that Short didn't get any ice time during the north country trip leads me to believe he might be a "work in progress".
I find it hard to believe that it would sell out if there wasn't a "Destler Dare," or that the gimmick would convince non-fans to go to a hockey game.
Realizing there are many factors that go into playing time, but watching Short quite a bit in BC, you will be pleasantly surprised. He is the best goalie RIT has. JMO
I question how many tickets were purchased by RIT departments/colleges to hand out. Not that I am against that, but I find it hard to believe that it would sell out if there wasn't a "Destler Dare," or that the gimmick would convince non-fans to go to a hockey game. It didn't work for basketball a few years ago...
Of course it wouldn't sell out without the Destler Dare. That was the whole point of it.
It's only the second year. We're not expecting regular sellouts yet, but it will be nice to see one for a change.

Much closer game than the score shows. Was 3-2 before 2 empty netters.
In the post game, Wayne Wilson said we would see Rotolo tomorrow night.
RITSZ tweeted that tomorrows game would be broadcast live on channel 98. https://twitter.com/RIT_SportsZone/status/657686388838670336

Not bad... not bad at all. Video here ("fast-forward" to the 7:50-mark).Although the game was not played at the highest level, Garbowsky took out a Reading player with two overhand rights. For a NCAA kid, he can throw the leather.
