Last chance to play the backup goalies....does Wilson do it?

I'd say no unless Rotolo screws up on Friday. He was pretty competent last weekend and even against Clarkson and SLU (as much as possible with the D we had).

Normally I'd agree but the fact that Wilson said it leads me to believe he's planning on it. I would guess Short tonight on the road and then Rotolo at home in Rochester. Gotta play the home town kid for a (maybe) sold out barn!

Gotta play the kid who's most likely to stop more pucks. ;)

Tomorrow night's game is officially sold out!!!

I question how many tickets were purchased by RIT departments/colleges to hand out. Not that I am against that, but I find it hard to believe that it would sell out if there wasn't a "Destler Dare," or that the gimmick would convince non-fans to go to a hockey game. It didn't work for basketball a few years ago...

Also have to nurture a backup who may have to step in if your #1 goes down late in the year to a freak practice injury.

Just sure would be nice to let him get experience and win games. The fact that Short didn't get any ice time during the north country trip leads me to believe he might be a "work in progress".

Realizing there are many factors that go into playing time, but watching Short quite a bit in BC, you will be pleasantly surprised. He is the best goalie RIT has. JMO

Of course it wouldn't sell out without the Destler Dare. That was the whole point of it.

It's only the second year. We're not expecting regular sellouts yet, but it will be nice to see one for a change.

That's nice to hear. Hopefully you're right, because it's been downright quiet in this thread with no goalie controversy this year. ;-)

I know last year with Surrey he faced a lot of shots, but got a lot of minutes in. Hopefully he gets to reach his full potential with the Tigers. It's always good when the #1 can't get too complacent.

Sold out BC fresh in people's minds + First reg season home game + Strong showing against a #10 team + Destler Dare + RIT dept ticket purchases + Increased GA seating + memory of strong ending last season = Sell out (at least for the first home game :) )

You're right. I was thinking that even as an official "sell out," I expect to see lots of open seats and/or a crowd not very into the game, I hope I'm wrong though.

Short in net to start tonight. Also: tomorrow's game will not be broadcast live on TV.

Much closer game than the score shows. Was 3-2 before 2 empty netters.

In the post game, Wayne Wilson said we would see Rotolo tomorrow night.

RITSZ tweeted that tomorrows game would be broadcast live on channel 98. https://twitter.com/RIT_SportsZone/status/657686388838670336

Although the game was not played at the highest level, Garbowsky took out a Reading player with two overhand rights. For a NCAA kid, he can throw the leather.

Yeah, a lot better game and some decent shots that were stopped near the end. Tonight's game should be a different story.

Thanks for the link too, trying to see as many games from afar as I can.

I was impressed with Short's performance for his first game. It definitely wasn't as damaging as Ruby's first game against a really good Union team but also not an easy opponent like a team at the bottom of the AHC. I thought it was the right decision on Wilson's part.

So I finally have Time Warner Cable this year... And tonight's game is on channel 98??? Not 26... I don't get 98.

What is channel 98? I can't find anything about it online, I found one channel listing with it, calling it "Rochester Channel". Have they put games on 98 before?

Not bad... not bad at all. Video here ("fast-forward" to the 7:50-mark).

Cheers!!!
