What I said was that at the moment MercyHurst are closer to the Middle than the Top. I count 8 in Hockey East, 12 in ECAC, 6 in CHA nd 8 in WCHA for 34 so if you add Sarcred Heart that makes 35 so from my perspective middle is 18. Even at 10th in the Nation (preseason Poll) you are closer to the middle than you are the top. I never suggested that ther are 18 teams in D1 better than Mercyhurst. Just that they are not the powerhouse that one of the previous posters was making them out to be.
I noticed Binnington was in goal again, as she was for the Yale game. Is she our new #1?

Potentially bad news - Yokoyama apparently went into the boards feet first tonight and injured her knee or leg. She was checked out by training staff for a while on the ice before being helped off, unable to bear any weight on the injured leg. She left the rink on a stretcher. Hoping for the best and a speedy recovery!
Their sick bay is getting pretty full. Hope it's nothing serious. It says 2-2 OT Final. Do they not do shootouts in the CHA?
The CHA women did have shootouts at one point, but have not in recent seasons. Same with Hockey East women. WCHA women still use shootouts, and thus, their games are worth 3 points (3 for a win in regulation or overtime, 2 for a shootout win, 1 for a shootout loss, 0 for a conventional loss).

Cali,
Were you at either game? Just curious if anyone was there in person. Both box scores looked lopsided in favor of RIT. PSU goalie looks Like the real deal.
Pretty quiet in here now...
I am glad to see Yokoyama wasn't too injured at Penn State (she left the Friday game with a knee injury). I think the team is playing pretty well for their first year in D1. It looks like they may have a hard time playing 2 D1 games in 2 days - they looked tired on Saturday, but were still able to keep Syracuse to just 2 goals.
I don't really have any complaints - at least they are playing better than the men
Now we just need some home wins, but they have 7 away games before coming back to the Ritter on 12/15....Anyone planning on going out to Syracuse next Tuesday?

I thought they looked good considering they played at Colgate the night before, and SU was off. I thought RIT was the better of the two teams and controlled the majority of the game. SU controlled parts of the game but that was usually when RITs 4th line was on.
Overall, as a fan I'm really impressed with this team and how hard they play. Good luck with the next 7 road games. Tough test ahead. And exams.
