RIT Tigers 2012-2013 season

Re: RIT Tigers 2012-2013 season

Now the score is showing as 8-0 final for Sacred Heart. Awesome job of updating there by the SID.

Not really a surprise. I seam to remember not being able to get men's updates on the live stats. No reason for there to be any change on the womens side.

The D&C says we beat Fairfield yesterday.

Sacred Heart is from Fairfield, CT.

I would not read too much into yesterday's win. Sacred heart is an Independent D1 school, but plays mostly a D3 type schedule. Last year they played 8 games against lower end D1 teams, with 5 goals for and 52 goals against for, a scoring average of 1-7. Their overall record was 11-17 with 64 goals for and 124 against. Their D3 record was 11-9 with 59 goals for and 72 goals against. They did not play any higher end D3 teams.

3-1 after 1. Once again no stats or even a box score. Thanks Twitter and @RITWHKY.

To be fair, and considering the men's facilities at the Milford Ice Pavilion, I suspect the media facilities at The Rinks are abysmal, if they exist at all.

If they can't do it, they can't do it. I have no problem with that. If that's the case however, don't go to the trouble of setting up a link for "Live Stats" on your home and schedule page indicating that you can do it.

With the advances in wireless technology, it should be a lot easier to get an internet connection these days even if the infrastructure in the building is limited. Unless, of course, the wireless service in the area is bad.

Well, rinks have a funny way of mousing up signals, even in this age of 3 and 4G. I know in a lot of places people have trouble using their mobile devices as hot spots when they are in the rink.

True. But if I'm in athletic communications and I know that I'll be spending a season in a rink, it would be a good idea to spend some time trying to figure out a way to make it work.

Re: RIT Tigers 2012-2013 season

Good crowd last night. RIT outplayed the visiting Tigers for long stretches, continually stealing the puck from their skaters. But shots were weak; they didn't give us anything outside and we couldn't get down low with any consistency. With Chamberlain pulled, Hiller had two shots at an open net but whiffed on both. This easily could have been a tie, and a win was within reach. Just one of those things.

Re: RIT Tigers 2012-2013 season

Having not had a chance to see the Sacred Heart games, I thought the Tiger's play against two ECAC teams this weekend was very encouraging. I understand that Yale and Princeton haven't exactly had monster seasons over the last few years, but I thought that watching both of those games, you couldn't tell that RIT was in it's first D1 season.

We obviously dominated the Yale game and I thought with bit more puck luck, we could have very easily beaten Princeton Friday night. This team looked very different than they did in the weekend Vs. Mercyhurst and I am excited to see them settle in further to their game.

Re: RIT Tigers 2012-2013 season

I hope that Women's hockey becomes a permanent member of Brick City Homecoming weekend. The crowd Friday night was very good and even though attendance wasn't great for the Saturday game, it made for a special day to have a double header at the Blue Cross Arena on Saturday.

Friday's crowd was great. RIT side was full and visitor side was at least half full. The attendance for the Yale game wasn't listed. Anyone know what the number was? I would guess at least 500.

Both crowds were over 1000 which is great to see. RIT played well in both games and could've come away with two wins.
It would be interesting to see the team play with McCrea and Kunichika, two very talented players that would help the PP.
Overall they were exciting games and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

Re: RIT Tigers 2012-2013 season

I agree, with McCrea and Kunichika you'd have to think we at least tie the Princeton game. Anyone know why Kourtney's out?

She tweaked a knee. I would guess 1 or 2 more weeks. Kolbee is considerably longer from what I am to understand.
