>>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-13: Clawing our way up the standings in the 2nd half

Renting out the field house helps pay for 'Goose Poop' cleanup on the baseball field and surrounding areas. Imagine what it'd be like if they didn't do that.

At this point it helps pay for the new ice arena.

Terrific win Saturday night! I’d nominate that game for game of the year, by a long shot. Certainly the best home game. The only downside was seeing AIC goalie Ben Meisner close out his terrific college career with such a lopsided loss.

I’m not sure what the rest of the playoffs hold for the Tigers this year, but next season the Tigers could be really good. With some nice defensive additions and more physical, aggressive play - RIT could be a force.

Of course we still have some games yet to play this year. If Ruby continues to play like he did this weekend, who knows what could happen?

Very true. The Garbowsky/McGowan/Schuler line is going to be a real force next year, even more so than they have been down the stretch this year. With average defense and Ruby backstopping (assuming he is actually capable of this play over time) we could be pretty strong.

However, we still have some games left in the tank this year. Even though I picked against them in the AHA Pick'Em, I really think the Tigers can pull it off this weekend, but will need a strong Friday effort which continues to elude them.

It was especially fun when we were all yelling "we want seven" and and the seventh goal went in the net at that instant!

I was shocked. The TV announcers were saying "now the corner crew will count up to seven, hoping for another goal... IT'S IN!"

I didn't want to spend $40 to $60 this weekend for games, seriously $10 a ticket is a bit much. I'll save my money for the games at Blue Cross if they make it there. Niagara has the safe money, but RIT has always done well against them this season compared to others.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2012-13: Clawing our way up the standings in the 2nd half

Nice to see, or in my case listen to the win on Saturday night, great way for the seniors to play and contribute to their last game at the Ritter. Very happy for the whole team.

The good thing about this upcoming series is that RIT is playing with house money. Everybody predicts a Niagara win, they are supposed to clean the Tigers clocks, the Tigers will lay down for the Eagles. However...if Niagara were to lose this series who knows if they even make the NCAA's?

So for our Tigers, continue to grow your playoff beards...play loose, smart and intense, there's no downside, go out there and let all the pressure fall on Niagara. A couple of good puck bounces, a couple of great saves combined with the talent that we know this team has and this upcoming series is not as lopsided as a #1 seed vs. #8 seed that a casual follower of college hockey may think.

Well said.

Think that is bad should see Niagara's pricing spent that much on 3 tickets...

Its highly probable that a pair of losses to RIT would drop Niagara out of contention for an at-large bid. It's going to be very very tough for them if they lose to RIT. They would need some help from other teams then.

I think it's safe to say Niagara will not get in as at at-large if they lose twice to RIT. Look how far they fell in the pairwise after being swept by Air Force. They are very much on the bubble now at 13.

I messed around with the pairwise calculator over at College Hockey News, and it's not impossible, but like I said, very improbable for Niagara to get an at-large bid with a pair of losses to RIT. If they lost to RIT then they basically need teams around them in the Pairwise to lose (Wisconsin, BU, Providence, Union, etc.) the next round of playoffs and then the favorites to win out after that. And having RIT go on a tear would be beneficial too.

Well Wisconsin is already out...

I just changed only those 2 games to RIT wins, and it only dropped Niagara to 14th from 13th. Not too bad, bubble but not out of it completely.

Well Wisconsin is already out...

But they could jump in depending upon how they do in the WCHA tourney. And I was only using them as an example.

But that is ignoring what all of the rest of the teams do which drastically affect the Pairwise.

I have seen dozens and dozens of roundabouts (I used to spend significant time in the UK for work), and I have never, ever, ever seen one blocked to traffic the way the one at RIT is during events.

UConn is close to being a TUC and probably will become one with a win. If they do, Niagara's TUC becomes 6-4, assuming Holy Cross, Air Force and Robert Morris all stay in as TUCs. What that means for Niagara is that record against TUC becomes active and at .600 will help them in a lot of comparisons.

Closing one side of it ends up backing up traffic. Signage for closed lots is also mostly non-existent or so small to be unreadable. They need a computerized sign before the roundabout and other major intersections (or at entrances) to direct traffic and signs like that near lots.

Ed, was just listening to "Roundabout" on my headphones in the office last Friday. When I saw the post from Chris the first thing that cam to my mind was:

UConn would probably make the most mediocre TUC in some time...
