Where does everybody find info about recruits?

Chris Heisenberg is pretty much the best source. He maintains a list of commitments every year. That can be found here. He also tweets at @CHeisenberg.

New Recruit on the Heisenberg site

Alexander Kuqali-LD 11/15/11 Indiana (USHL) 6'2 208 6-3-91

Haven't had time to dig up much more as I am in a class right now, but 6'2'' 208 looks like a good size for a D-man to me.

Wikipedia has him listed as 226 lbs, so he's clearly pretty big. Also interestingly he's from the same team as Woody Hudson one of our other recruits from next year, appears that we're able to reach into the ushl now more than previously.

I didn't get it, either. I realize Potts had very little impact on the score sheet on those other six games, but neither did anyone else on the team (by and large). I don't see what that has to do with missing the impact he /has/ made so far this season.

Hey, look at that, MattS! A logical contradictory argument (to the point I apparently made in a much too subtle manner), as opposed to just calling someone's statement "stupid". Go figure. There is a better way.

I simply asked a question to your admittedly subtle point which I and others didn't get. Maybe you should look at your own sig and take the advise given there.

Interesting tidbit about Jamie Morris being the goaltending coach. Great RIT goalie left just before Wilson got here. Played pro hockey in Indy and it looks like he stuck around. Had the strangest warmup of any goalie I have ever seen. He had to be hit in certain spots by the captain (I think it was Jerry Galway) in a certain order or they would start over. And during the 2-on-1 and 3-2 drills he often wouldn't even try to stop the puck, just make sure his lines were straight. They'd run out of pucks in warmups sometimes because they'd all be in the back of net since he didn't try to stop any.

Tigers pick up another D-man. This time out of Wichita Falls of the NAHL

Brad Shumway - Layfayette, CO - 6/3/1992 - 6'1" 196lbs,

2009-10 Wenatchee Wild NAHL 2gm - 0g - 1a - 1pts - 0pim -0+/-
2010-11 Wenatchee Wild NAHL 52gm - 0g - 15a - 15pts - 30pim 14+/-
2011-12 Wichita Falls Wildcats NAHL - 19gm - 2g - 6a - 8pt - 10pim - -14+/-

This brings us to 3 Defensemen and 3 Forwards.

See a pattern of larger players also.

The D-men go 6'1"-196, 6'2"-208, and 6'3"-200. Even the forwards are pretty good sized 5'11"-170, 5'10"-175, and Woody Hudson the "baby" of the group at 6'2"-220. Plus remember that Freshman Stuart Brownell hasn't seen any action this year and he's at 6'4"-185, and probably busily putting on the "freshman 15". If I have the time I'd love to go back and look at how height & weight of recruits has changed since the DIII days.

What's up with these NAHL recruits? Why are we recruiting from Tier II. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but isn't our whole team Tier I? (USHL & BCHL mostly)

Wow, I hadn't even noticed we were missing a Freshman forward. He's never been on the roster as far as I can tell. Wonder what happened.

He was on the roster when it was first released, but was taken off at some point prior to the season.

An injury before the season led to his decision to retire from hockey.

It's awfully quiet here when we win.

I thought it was great to see the Freshmen+McReynolds line as the top line tonight. I don't think anyone can question they earned the spot. They played well again tonight, although with little to show for it.

Madolora continues to show why he's the glue that holds the Tigers together.

I agree. They look good last night.

Re: >>>>> RIT Tigers 2011-2012 <<<<< Dreaming is Done, Time to ROAR

I get pretty nervous for the team when I go to the early season games. It seems like the team is struggling, but actually they're learning... it's part of an important building process. I'd like to have wins early on, but the team needs to gel and Wilson needs time to work his magic. It's a gradual, incremental process that leads to a stronger team as the season progresses. Now instead of seeing the unsure, inaccurate passes of the earlier games, we're seeing much more confidence developing between the players... were seeing more precise passes and more crisp play development. It was really fun to watch last night as the Tigers took apart HC's power play. It was like what Union was doing to us in the first period of that game. I saw us back off somewhat in the second period last night... we can't afford to do that. If we can keep our intensity and focus at the highest level for 60 minutes, we will be hard to beat... our Tigers certainly have the talent.

Re: >>>>> RIT Tigers 2011-2012 <<<<< Dreaming is Done, Time to ROAR

I thought RIT essentially put on a clinic for the first period and most of the second. Despite not scoring as many goals as I would have liked, I thought it was some of the best hockey the team has played so far this year. Having Madalora back has been huge, as well as Saracino. If you watch his game its obvious he is our top defender and really brings a physical presence to the blue line. Noyes had a strong game as well. He had some key poke checks and really cleared out the garbage in front of the net. I'm loving the McRenoylds line. If Garbowsky and McGowan already have a lot of chemistry its going to be great to see them as upper class men.

The McReynold-McGowan-Garbowsky line was incredible IMO.
