Does this mean 2013-2014 or 2014-2015?

It's an almost 2-year process (so I heard), so I would think it means 2014-15. That is what I meant anyway. All they said on the radio was 2014 season.

I'm inclined to agree that it would be a 2 year process, but I've heard conflicting reports. On Channel 8 they said 2013-2014 season.

How much work has already been done? There's a very good point of comparison in Pegula Ice Arena; they just recently broke ground.

Ground hasn't been broken yet (the actual site itself is still in discussion, actually).

2014-15 sounds more likely, then. Any conceptual drawings?

I heard a ground breaking ceremony would be held during Brick City Weekend.

I am a little disappointed with the selection of BBB Architects as I have been to Air Canada and GM Place and I am not enamored with either one. I just hope they have improved their concepts and have learned that in, at least college hockey, it is imperative to have the feeling that the crowd is "right on top of the ice".

Check the PSU website. The location is described in detail and the ground was broken (at least ceremonially) last month.

I think he was talking about RIT not breaking ground yet.

It sounds like the "right on top of the ice" is a priority of the RIT administration. I don't think they'll allow otherwise... at least I hope.

Yes, I've heard that many times along with "Ritter-like feel" ... which I think translates into a full bowl, close to ice, and steep seating incline ... and windows! All along with bleachers for the corner so that the students can pack as many as they like in there and stand.

It will be interesting to see how they balance the need for an intimate hockey environment with comfort. Much of what is revered about the Ritter (full bowl close to the ice) translates into a very uncomfortable seating situation with knees in your back while trying to 'accommodate' the person in front of you. I know having seats will address part of the issue, but it remains to be seen how seats will impact the feeling of being right on top of the ice.

The RoMo game is also marked on a thursday on AHA's site, but the Michigan Series is listed as 10/12 and 10/13 (Fri and Sat).

The exhibition Canada trip seems to have disappeared from AHA's site, and is not mentioned in RIT's schedule either.

Chris Lerch has confirmed via twitter that the Vancouver trip is cancelled.

The games at Michigan were changed to Thursday/Friday to avoid their football homecoming game on Saturday.

Are the Michigan and RoMo games in October really on Thursday nights?

Michigan being on a Thursday isn't necessarily a bad thing, as that means possible exposure to television.
