RIT was 1-1-0 against teams in the 2012 Frozen Four in the 2011-12 season.

Per Twitter, Scotty Knowles is joining the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL

That's surprising. Hopefully his career goes better than similarly-sized Favot.

In other news, Burt has 1-1-2 in 3 games so far, pretty good!

It'll be interesting to see how Burt develops. I think he felt a lot of pressure to carry the team the past couple of years and being the low man on the totem pole again might be good for him.

Playing close has not been a problem for the most part in the NCAA tournament. It's WINNING that is the problem. It would be nice if the AHA reps did that more often.

Yeah, I was pulling for AFA to move on but watching the match, didn't think they had it in them. BC was pretty good at shutting them down in the offensive zone.

It doesn't help that AHA teams will always play against the #1 seed in the regional.

It would take some major wins in OOC games by the entire league to change that scenario.

And not as many people on message boards analyzing every move he makes.

AFA-BC was a very enjoyable game, with lots of action and scoring chances. Air Force was the proper rep from he AHA, because they were the only team in this league with the skating abilities to stay with the "big boys". RIT's lack of speed and quickness was exposed in the AHA Final, especially at the blue line.

AFA was the proper rep from the AHA for only one reason ... they won the tournament!

Any of NU, MU, AFA, and RIT could have equally well represented the AHA and lost to an amazing BC team. (And any of them could have upset BC in an extreme long-shot.)

I am too much of a homer fan, I couldn't get up for rooting for AFA. I was pulling for a score more like 8-0 BC :) I know we are supposed to support the conference and see it well represented but eh it just felt dirty. Kind of like a Yankee's fan rooting for the Red Sox because they want to see the American league win the world series...

The perfect analogy.

I was definitely happy to see Air Force get blanked. I wouldn't want to see Canisius advance either.

As a fan of both RIT and the Red Sox, I totally agree. In 2001, I was rooting hard for the D-Backs to beat the Yankees, as was a good chunk of Red Sox Nation. I think some of it though stemmed from the fact that most Sox fans never thought the team would win so the next best thing was seeing the Yankees lose.

Las Vegas Wranglers looks like.

Too bad about Spivak, but not altogether unsurprising. Kind of surprised Halitgin hasn't gone anywhere.

I watch the game and felt even though Air Force hung in it felt like it was 8-0, Air Force hit BC with their best shot in the first and still wond up 1-0. It just felt like the AHA all season, good goaltending, can skate with anyone, but when the time came just could not find anyone to put the puck in the net for the big goal that was needed. Here is to hoping to see more goals next year...

Yeah it doesn't look right now, but hopefully the AHA will invite UAH into the conference though I could see the eastern schools *****ing about having possibly to go to Alabama and Colorado in the same year.

How does that hurt our chances?

And to be honest I do not want to join another conference until our new Arena is built. We need to strengthen our program or we will drowned out by the ECAC teams. We also would have a much harder time getting into the NCAAs.
