>>> RIT Tigers 2011-12 -- Now then, where were we? <<<

Re: >>> RIT Tigers 2011-12 -- Now then, where were we? <<<

What an amazing experience to have for the three ladies. Hopefully they got some pointers from all the olympians.

Yeah, and imagine how jealous Kunichika must be. =)

Women's hockey tickets will be $5/$4/$3 per game this season, but FREE for RIT students and children under 6. Season tickets are 11x the single-ticket price, but if you buy men's season tickets you can get women's season tickets for just $20.

The game against Yale on Brick City Weekend WILL BE at Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester Community War Memorial (3pm, before the men's Penn State game); the other 15 home games are at Ritter.

That's gonna be a hell of a double-header. Can we get the ladies a packed house?

No.

I'm more interested as to if they will make everyone empty out between the games. Otherwise that will make getting the best seats next to impossible for those of us not able to spend the entire day there.

I imagine it'll be one ticket for the entire day. Even so, I don't think the women's game will be anywhere near capacity; most people will show up prior to the men's game. If the women's game gets much more than 2500 fans, I'd be surprised.

Mr. Powers, is it time yet to start a new thread for the upcoming season?

The ladies have consistently had crowds around 700-1000 per game the past couple of years. I'm sure the school will promote this weekend, especially since its homecoming for RIT.
It's nice to see a school committing resources to a women's team and all you can come up with is to be dissappointed with a crowd of 2500 for one game. I think a lot of D1 women's teams would be happy if 2500 people watched their games during an entire season. The atmosphere at the RIT women's games has been great for the game. I think a lot of D1 programs will enjoy playing in Rochester.

They've really consistently averaged that many? Wow. That's really good. Granted RIT is RIT in a large metropolitan area with an undergrad of 15,000 and a pretty good hockey town to begin with.

The past couple of years, yes they have. How have the crowds been when you've been in the Ritter? This years attendance at the championship game was 1200+ but there was a lot more people there than that. I think attendance will only go up once chatham, potsdam and cortland stop coming and syracuse, princeton, yale and penn state start coming..

This past season they averaged around 525 at home in the regular season and around 850 in the post season.

Attendance was great for the NCAA's with games RIT was in and that was even competing head to head with the men downtown. The NCAA committee was very pleased with the numbers but I just don't know if anyone else has the infrastructure to be able to pull off what they did.

Plattsburgh does...and has in the past.
