>>>>RIT Tigers 2010-2011<<<<

Re: >>>>RIT Tigers 2010-2011<<<<

Same old Potsdam. Can't win so they bring the thuggery. Intentional injuries to two RIT players and a coach behind the bench who can't keep his temper in check. I remember people last year defending Potsdam's coach in here, but I really don't understand why. The man seems to have no control over his team or himself. I've got an idea. How about you coach your team to play hockey and instill a professional mindset in your players?

Potsdam is one team I don't feel bad for when RIT routs them. They get what they deserve.

And not having looked at the box score for tonights game but only yesterdays, I'll make the same arguement as last year. Penalties were 13-14 both teams are to blame. Control goes both ways.

Re: >>>>RIT Tigers 2010-2011<<<<

Take a look at today's penalties:
RIT 5 for 10 minutes
Potsdam 12 for 32 minutes...they were gooning it up out there.

If you're going to try and call me out, then at least put the effort in. My commentary was not about last nights game which I did not see. It was about tonights game.

RIT with technical penalties. Potsdam with the Checking from behind, Elbowing, cross checking and a game misconduct. One of the high sticks was behind the play and resulted in Arianne Yokoyama leaving the game injured, and the check from behind resulted in star freshman Erin Zach leaving the game with an injury. Potsdam needs to figure out whether it's a wrestling team or a Women's Hockey team.

Just wondered...looking at the box score she was not on the ice for any of the 10 goals?

You might be right. It didn't dawn on me during the game but I don't think she had as much ice time as usual. She didn't ride the pine though, so it must have just been bad luck that she didn't grab a +. Interesting observation.

Re: >>>>RIT Tigers 2010-2011<<<<

Just calling out that regardless of todays game, feelings probably carried over. And I'm not sure what it is but this only seems to be a big issue when these two teams play so you can't lay all the blame on Potsdam.

And my apologies for not checking the stats but at the time the ones I wanted were not up yet.

I went to both games, (I'm glad I decided not to drive to Niagara to watch the guys) The first game was chippy, to say the least. A lot of stuff let go by the refs until it boiled over mid-way thru the second period when RIT started scoring. Dissapointed in both teams for playing like that but decided to come back for the second game to see if any fireworks would happen again.

I was very pleased to see RIT not play down to Potsdams level. Potsdam should be embarrassed of their two game performance, especially their coach who was leading the way yelling and complaining to whole time. He looked ridiculous, as did his team. Cheap shots and dirty plays were happening all over the ice from Potsdam and their coach was getting mad at the refs...wake up pal, control your players.

Kudos to RIT for staying out of it and leaving the nonsense to Potsdam. But it was truly sad to see Yokoyama and Zach carried off the ice. Hopefully they're back for this weekend against Amherst. Can't wait, four home games this weekend at the Ritter.

Chamberlain's a beast; how'd we get her? =)

Scotty is obviously a charmer. ;)

I think the option of being able to come in as a Freshman and be the starting goaltender for a team that may potentially go D1 during her tenure here, is a great option. Much better than a backup job on a D1 team if that was her other option. Who knows, maybe she wins a D3 championship as a Freshman? It could happen.

I knew she was good from what I'd observed before hand, and Scotty hyping her, but it was nice to see her in her element against a good team. The glove save she made in the 3rd while in the splits was pro material. I've been taking notes to work on my own game :o

I think the most important thing about having Laura in net is that it brings confidence to the rest of the team. They don't have to worry about bailing her out and that lets them take chances, knowing that she can come up with a big save if she has to. That's crucial and something this team has not had in the time I've been watching them.

Tomorrow should be a great tilt. Go Tigers!

Congratulations to the RIT players and coaches for their 2 wins over Amherst this weekend.

Re: >>>>RIT Tigers 2010-2011<<<<

since platty was idle, i'm hoping rit did enough to jump them and be number 1 in the nation. I believe this is a 1st in school history so it should be interesting to see how the polls look this upcoming week.
