So, I didn't notice a Halftime cheer last night. Or, for that matter, "Sweet Caroline" (which I think should never be played outside of New England).

Speaking of distractions from the game, IMHO the best costume of the night was the group of bandies dressed as Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man, along with a quartet of ghosts with reversable sheets, who took turns chasing each other depending on what color they were. They must have missed most of the game, though, since their costumes required them to spend a bunch of time chasing each other around the concourse.

The TV folks showed them and said "what are they doing?" then thought it had something to do with Pac-Man. :p

To be fair, I didn't notice the ghosts until Rocky said "Ms. Pac-Man is running for her life" after the hot dog eating contest.

Who leaves a goalie in to get tuned up for 7 goals and for that matter 13 goals on the weekend? It was a massacre!

Looks like Air Force dropped a game to Canisius. Either Air Force is stumbling again or Canisius has elevated their game this year.

If you have DVR the game, go back and check out Tanev's goal, the 5th and only one in the second. Its funny on the shot from behind the net Hartley is diving for cover, I guess he knows what a rocket Tanev has, but maybe he lacks faith in his ability to control it. Good laugh...

We were distracted. :p

And the DJ even played Mission Impossible at the proper time!

Hell, even the officiating was good, which is hard to believe with Zelasko out there.

Honestly, I feel kinda bad for UConn's goaltending trio. Man, how bad do you have to be as a backup to not get put in the game last night? How bad do you have to be, that a coach would rather come back with the freshman starter again after giving up 6 goals the night before.

I really liked Larson's shoulder shrug to the Corner Crew when someone asked him why he was still in the game. :o Poor guy. It must be hard being the lesser of the evils.

From what I understand, he is a true freshman who is starting because the junior is injured.

The kid really got hung out to dry a bit. We (and me in particular) were a bit unkind in our description of him on Friday over the radio (and on B2, where UConn fans took some offense). He came up with a few pretty dandy saves Saturday even being peppered, so I think he's got the skills.

UConn also had a short bench Saturday for some reason. We were not told why, but they had only 11 forwards (one of whom was a D playing up.)

I get why the junior didn't play - but surprised the other goalie on the roster didn't see action. I believe he already played this year so it's not like they are saving him to be red-shirted.

And Al Mazur says "What else do I gotta do?"

=)

Sorry, Al, next time score four goals in one game.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' The Ritter For Another Year

I took a closer look at the home schedule and the academic calendar and realized that the home schedule leaves a lot to be desired by the students.

FALL

Nov. 16,17,18,19,20 Final exams—day classes - RIT plays @ Home against Sacred Heart November 20, 21.

WINTER

February 19 Last day classes - RIT plays @ Home against Air Force February 19, 20.
Feb. 22,23,24,25,26 Final exams—day classes RIT plays @ Home against Canisius February 26, 27
Feb. 28 - Mar. 7 Winter/Spring break Possible First Round of Atlantic Hockey Playoffs March 7

Most concerning is the winter schedule, where the games against Air Force and Canisius will likely determine playoff positions and bragging rights. And if history is any indication you can bet the band will not be at any of these games either - which will dampen the atmosphere a good bit. Last year the idea of assembling the band during a break came up a bit too late. Who can grease the skids with them now to see if they can plan on being at any of these games?

I don't think you're going to get anywhere with that. From the response last year they don't want to ruin their reputation with an ad-hoc band that bears their name. Can't say I really blame them. Aside from the band it will also hurt attendance which I think is more important. I rather have no band and a full Ritter instead of vice versa.

The band has a lot of members this year, including one of my roommates. I spoke to her a few weeks ago and they said they are going to try to stay for those games, but there is no guarantee

I am glad it is on their radar. The Air Force games especially since it is right after classes end and before exams begin. Even if the band lost a few members that weekend they do look much bigger than last year and may be able to uphold their reputation.

A full Ritter is good. A full Ritter with the band is much much better.

I am glad they are thinking about it. I never saw the big hurry to go back home after exams. Who wants to go back to living at their parents house? :)
